I think you're thinking of Philly...

NYRB open with the start of this season.

First Game in NYRB stadium is against santos and the ever so popular (and stupid) Robinho. They open the season there as well. It's completed as far as I have heard.

MSG is Madison Square Garden Network. It covers mostly NY hockey and Basketball teams. Doubt there is any local broadcast availability. Maybe online somewhere tho.

Wow, that's good news for Cox (who has been playing LB in some of the preseason matches) as it looked like Davis was his main competition. Insteresting to see that Schuler is still around... it's looking more and more like it's going to come down to him or Horst.

EDIT: I totally forgot Virginia Slims was still in the mix for CB as well...

so we just got rid of our "third option" at striker... we seriously need to get that Tico.

with those 4 gone, what does the roster look like now?

Yeah, Abe's departure seems to suggest that something else is afoot. About time...

my apologies to Pablo Campos, we have 3 options at striker now... which I am not comfortable with. Hopefully something is afoot as FM said

Actually, if you're being completely technical you have four as Nunez hasn't been released yet...

how many games did he play in last year again? 3, for a grand total of 18 minutes... 0 shots

not an "option" in my book

I agree... but I was just being technical. And whether we as fans are happy about it or not - it does say something that Abe was released prior to Tino. Also, while Tino wasn't really relevant last year (I think in large part due to the Escalada experiment early on and the form of Robbie & Yura later) he did score a crucial winner against New England two seasons ago that helped push us towards our first playoff appearance.

That said... I'm not a huge Tino fan and I hope he isn't our fourth striking option, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction with this team.

I understand where you are coming from
I see Tino as an over priced training cone right now. When its a known fact that we need a quality finisher yet we hold on to a guy like him for this long... ah, oh well. He is fairly cheap right

Well I would guess that Tino is probably cheaper than Abe was, so he is the better "project" type player value wise. Not sure of their ages, is Tino younger too? That might be another upside of him over Abe.

good points, but Tino has been here almost 3 years now right? When does a project end? Especially one that hasnt really progressed

He was on loan for most of last year. I would expect this year to be the make or break year. I think Kenny Cutler's make or break year was his 4th year. I'd expect Tino's is the same.

Everything is pointing to Seattle right now. The original claim that RSL sent a camera crew down there also doesn't sound right. However, Seattle is looking at bringing in a young Columbian striker, and it could be an either/or situation for them. Saborio's agent commented that Seattle showed interest "a long time ago". I'm assuming that they would have filed a discovery at that point.

I hope so. My fear is that they won't make a move until after the CBA is finalized, which could be 3-4 weeks from now (or later).

That's true, however, Saborio's agent has been on the radio and in the print press in Costa Rica insisting that they are trying to work out a deal with Seattle. Also, my bet is that if any team sent a camera crew to the Saprissa practice it was Seattle.

Some have suggested that the tweet you mentioned was carefully worded saying that Saborio isn't coming this week.
