Impressive list of friendlies for March 2nd and 3rd as World Cup qualifiers start tweaking their teams: Tuesday 2 March 2010 Rep. of Ireland v Brazil Wednesday 3 March 2010 Germany - Argentina England - Egypt Netherlands - U.S.A. France - Spain Scotland - Czech Rep. Portugal - China Mexico - New Zealand Algeria - Serbia Moldova - Kazakstan Chile - South Africa Slovakia - Norway Albania - No. Ireland Slovenia - Qatar Cyprus - Iceland Turkey - Honduras Latvia - Armenia Macedonia - Montenegro Switzerland - Uruguay Luxembourg - Azerbaijan Austria - Denmark Belgium - Croatia Wales - Sweden TV notes - FSC will have LIVE coverage of the Ireland v Brazil match on Tuesday (2:45pm ET) - ESPN2 and Galavision will share the Netherlands v USA match (LIVE @ 2:45pm ET) While those are the only two confirmed televised matches, we can expect Germany v Argentina to be available on GOL-TV (they hold rights Germany's pre-World Cup matches); GOL-TV also has rights to Wales' home matches and the Wales v Sweden match may show up at GOL-TV on delay (time conflict with Germany match); with Setanta USA folding March 1st, it leaves the England and Scotland matches as unknown (FSC does not have the England - Egypt match slated nor is it showing up as a PPV event as of today); Mexico v New Zealand should be available on Univision or Telemundo; Portugal - China 99% sure it will be on RTPi; France v Spain likely on TV5 and lets hope on a more widely distributed channel. SA PS. USA play a friendly on February 24th vs. El Salvador in Tampa, FL. Match will be live @ 7pm ET on ESPN Classic and Galavision.
England-Egypt is probably either PPV (via Premium Sports) with availability plans to be finalized or FS+.
There are also some important Asian Cup Qualifiers being played during this period that could be interesting to some Japan v Bahrain Hong Kong v Yemen Australia v Indonesia Oman v Kuwait Uzbekistan v United Arab Emirates Syria v Lebanon Iran v Thailand Jordan v Singapore
Is this matchup correct? FIFA website has Chile hosting both North Korea and Costa Rica (no idea how that will be done) while South Africa will be hosting Namibia.

Interesting to see ESPN360.com picking up Internet rights in the U.S. market to all the European friendly matches distributed by SPORTFIVE. Those matches used to be distributed at Setanta-i.com among other websites.
I think huhe might be onto something both Setanta Australia and Canada seems to only be showing games from the English FA during the Wednesday friendlies. Both are showing the U21 Qualifier between England and Greece and Setanta Australia has the England and Egypt game following live. I presume England Egypt will be PPV in Canada and Setanta Canada will delay it to either Thursday or Friday. Very strangely Setanta will not be showing any other games
Yup. Setanta Canada 1st airing of the England v Egypt match is Friday, March 5th @ 7:15pm ET. Very likely on PPV... SA

Mexico vs New Zealand on March 3 at 11pm Eastern/8pm Pacific should be on Telemundo and possibly mun2, but the telecast is likely to be blacked out to cable TV subscribers and to free-to-air viewers of Telemundo 52 (KVEA-TV) in the Los Angeles TV market.
none of the Mexico friendlies in LA over the past years have been blacked out on the local Telemundo station
- Germany v Argentina is now confirmed LIVE on GOL TV followed by a delayed broadcast of Italy v Cameroon at 4:45pm ET. - The Italy v Cameroon match will be LIVE on RAI Int'l. - Mexico v New Zealand now confirmed on Telemundo. - England v Egypt LIVE on Setanta Sport Canada. - Portugal v China confirmed for RTP Int'l. - ESPN Deportes has put up 3 placeholders for "International futbol" at 3pm, 5pm and 7pm ET on March 3rd so look for 3 of the 9 matches being shown on espn360.com to be available on ESPN Deportes. Most likely it will be France v Spain LIVE at 3pm with Switzerland v Uruguay in one of the delayed spots (these 2 matches are being shown on ESPN's Latin America/Caribbean service). Third game unknown but could just be a repeat. More news and updated kickoff times over the weekend. SA
So we will get Ger v Argen on GOL TV LIVE (1:45PM est)? and possibly some matches on ESPN Deportes as well? I got to make room on my DVR! Thanks!
As predicted.... ESPN Deportes: 3:00pm ET France v Spain LIVE 5:00pm ET Switzerland v Uruguay DELAYED 7:00pm ET France v Spain REPEAT SA
Interesting. Mexico vs Bolivia on February 24 was blacked out on KSTS-TV 48 San Jose, which serves the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose market.
I can't speak for Northern California But since I haven't gone to see them play against Guatemala and Chile in the Coliseum in 07 and 08 I have watched them on the local Telemundo channel. Prior to that I would go to the games, but would record them and they didn't black out either. The last time I remember Telemundo blocking a game was the final of the 98 Gold Cup in which they showed the game on tape delay in LA. Maybe its a new policy, I'm going to ask the people who are from Bay Area and see if they have experienced blackouts before.
ESPN has revised its March 3rd lineup of international friendlies. There are two less matches than originally listed. Removed are Luxembourg v. Azerbaijan, Hungary v. Russia, and Poland v. Bulgaria. (My guess are that the last two might have been sold, while the first was removed for lack of interest). Added was Bosnia v. Ghana at 11:30 am ET. The game time for Greece v. Senegal was changed to 10:00 am ET. The new ESPN360 lineup: 10:00 am (360) International Friendly: Greece v. Senegal (L) 11:30 am (360) International Friendly: Bosnia v. Ghana (L) 2:15 pm (360) International Friendly: Switzerland v. Uruguay (L) 2:30 pm (360) International Friendly: Netherlands v. USA (L) 2:45 pm (360) International Friendly: Belgium v. Croatia (L) 3:00 pm (360) International Friendly: France v. Spain (L) 3:45 pm (360) International Friendly: Portugal v. China (L)
Here is the fixture list after confirming as much information as I could find (all times US Central): ..7:30am Macedonia v Montenegro ..8:30am Ivory Coast v South Korea ..9:00am Georgia v Estonia ..9:00am Greece v Senegal 10:00pm Cyprus v Iceland 10:00am Slovakia v Norway 10:30am Bosnia-Herzegovina v Ghana 11:00am Moldova v Kazakhstan 12:00pm Malta v Finland 12:15pm Algeria v Serbia 12:30pm Hungary v Russia 12:30pm South Africa v Namibia 12:45pm Romania v Israel ..1:00pm Angola v Latvia ..1:00pm Armenia v Belarus ..1:00pm Luxembourg v Azerbaijan ..1:00pm Turkey v Honduras ..1:15pm Switzerland v Uruguay ..1:30pm Austria v Denmark ..1:30pm Poland v Bulgaria ..1:45pm Albania v No. Ireland ..1:45pm Belgium v Croatia ..1:45pm Germany v Argentina ..1:45pm Italy v Cameroon ..1:45pm Netherlands v U.S.A. ..1:45pm Slovenia v Qatar ..1:45pm Wales v Sweden ..2:00pm England v Egypt ..2:00pm France v Spain ..2:00pm Scotland v Czech Rep. ..2:45pm Portugal v China ..4:15pm Chile v Costa Rica ..6:00pm Venezuela v Panama ..7:00pm Chile v No. Korea 10:00pm Mexico v New Zealand Finding information on friendlies is one of the toughest tasks I had to do. I confirmed times and opponents on official association website wherever possible. Several games were removed from the original list such as El Salvador v Guatemala which turned out to be a U-21 friendly. Paraguay v Nigeria friendy has somehow fallen apart as the Paraguayan Association website confirms a friendly against Atletico Bilbao on March 3rd. And if you are seeing Chile listed twice above and think ol' SA has screwed something up - you are wrong. Chile IS playing 2 matches on the same day (and in the same stadium). Certainly an "A" and "B" squad situation but its officially being billed as a "doubleheader" by the Chilean Association. Link HERE. SA

Chile's matches have been put on hold for the moment even though the stadium itself appears to have suffered no damage from the quake. There are some reports that Uruguay has offered the Centenario as an alternative venue to allow Chile to continue their World Cup preparations. 8.8 is a ridiculous measurement, btw. Thoughts and prayers to those affected.
