According to many German sources (they refer to "Sport5") like this one ... http://www.sueddeutsche.de/sport/734/502963/text/ Jürgen Klinsmann has been considered to be the top candidate for the job as new Israeli national coach. Just silly rumours or serious news?
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Avi Luzon wants to bring him, and he's willing to give Jurgen a 2.5 million Euro a year contract, so i think it might be more than just a rumour...i would like to see Jurgen as our coach and Eyal Berkovic as his assitant..!
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? No ,,,,,,keep eyal for the next campaigne or the one after. He tends to critisize anyone in charge of israel cause he wants the job so bad. I hope he does take the job. Freakn' awesome.j I hope he or Hiddink take the job. There are some good candidates out there. maybe blasavitch.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? I just read that the shortlist has been narrowed down to Rijkaard and Donadoni with the latter being favored. http://goal.com/en/news/14/asia/201...kaard-roberto-donadoni-in-line-for-israel-job
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Klinsmann, Rijkaard and Donadoni are all massive upgrades from Kashtan...but I prefer Klinsmann because of his ability to inspire. I also think out of these 3 really quality coaches Klinsmann may be the only one to take the job seriously... I see Rijkaard and Donadoni getting frustrated and quitting, which would be a disaster. The most important thing about all these coaches is every single one of the Israeli players will look up to them, unlike Kashtan.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Well, he surely inspired the German national team in 2006 (getting well-paid for that when considering that his assistent Löw - the current German national coach - did the real job ) ... but it didn't really work at Bayern (where he failed). Btw: Did you know that Klinsmann and Matthäus can't stand each other?
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? How about Mark Hughes. Hiddink is sought after by Nigeria and a few other clubs. I think he may come over. That would be ideal
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Looking at the situation right now, Donadoni will probably be announced as Israel manager next week. So far he held talks with Israeli federation and appears to want the job. He is free after being sacked by Napoli. He is the best offer from abroad that Israel have had talks with. I'm not sure about his managing experience, He is still new to it and didn't do that much with Italy although reaching the quarter final in europe then loosing to spain. I do love the 94 Italy national team (Baggio, Baresi, costu, Donadoni) so he does have some great experience with some of the greatest players ever. With that in mind, I would be happy with him taking charge. It's about confidence to the team and experience of the manager.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Well, he surely inspired the German national team in 2006 (getting well-paid for that when considering that his assistent Löw - the current German national coach - did the real job I don't think that's fair. If Germany would have played poorly and didn't qualify from it's group then everyone would have blamed Klinsmann not Löw! There is no basis for the stories that it was actually Löw that coached the team in 2006 other than some German sports tabloids. But you're correct he did "fail" at Bayer, then again that job is not the easiest and he really wasn't given a chance to succeed. he was always interfered with
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? are there any updates, or articles someone can post? T
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? http://www.nusport.nl/voetbal/2188320/koeman-zegt-nee-israel.html It looks like it's Koeman's if he wants it. Personally i think it's a great move. He's a great coach
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Why do you think Koeman is a great coach? He hasn't led any teams he's been in charge to any accolades. Seems like his reputation as a player is what has gotten him the coaching jobs.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Well Hiddink is out for us. Turkey signed him and he's officially there manager. That leavs, Grant, klinsmann, Donadoni, Blazavich, or Baggio (but that's just a dream for me) We made the right choice with a stronger turkey and a home crowd of Thousands waiving flags of "Istambul since 1492". I thought the germany spot would discourage but he doesn't see often discouraged. I just want someone with experience and motivational expertise.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? He was an assistant coach of Dutch national teama during the 1998 world cup when they went to the Semi final in France. He then moved on to be assistant coach at Barcelona where they won La Liga in the 1998-1999 season. His first job as head coach saw him take vitesse to the UEFA cup on a small budget. At AJAX he won the league 2 times and also won a Dutch Cup and Super Cup. At Benfica he won the Port Supercup and took Benfica to the quarter finals of the CL. His first year at PSV he won the league and PSV were always hard to beat in the CL with him in charge. When he moved back to Spain with Valencia he won the Spanish Cup. I'm not saying he's the best coach in the world but he's far superior to the likes of Donadoni and Klinsmann. He's the best and most experienced Israel can hope for. There is no question that there are better coaches out there but what Israeli fans need to realize the likes of Jose Mourinho aint comin to israel
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? I haven't seen any news about the manager position for a while, which gives me a bad feeling because a couple of articles said that the job was Koeman's if he wanted it. If nothing has happened yet, well he probably doesn't want it. This may also have been the case for a few of the other candidates as well. Something tells me we'll see Berkovitch, Grant or some other Israeli as the teams next national coach. I really hope I'm wrong.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Something tells me we'll see Berkovitch, Grant or some other Israeli as the teams next national coach. I really hope I'm wrong. Something tells me you are right...though Grant wouldn't be such a bad choice this time around. He has gained plenty of valuable experience since leaving the Israeli national job. Took Chelsea to the Champions League final and took bottom of the league Portsmouth to the FA cup semi final under awful circumstances. All the players respect him. When he failed to guide the team to World Cup 2006 they were in a group of death and still never lost a match. Under Kashtan israel has gone straight down. All that said I would like Grant's chances with this Euro 2012 group. Berkovitch is a schmuck...he would be a disaster!
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Well I think Donadoni has withdrawn from the race, according to Sport5. And I doubt Klinsmann was ever really going to accept.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? what about we give Kashtan another chance?
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Don't even joke about that. Just thinking about how he messed up what was one of Israel's best chances to qualify gets my blood boiling.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? Schnorrer_Sefarad, Hahaha...I get your point but you can't compare Grant's CV to Kashtan. What has Kashtan ever done outside of Israel? Nothing. Another name I'd like hear mentioned is Unirea's Ronny Levy. He won everything there is to win in Israel at a young age and now is doing a great job with Unirea. Especially in the CL where they had some great results. Namely crushing Rangers He's not my first choice but a much, much better option than freaking Berkovitch
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? would pekerman be interested in the job?
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? What about an ex-player like Rosenthal or Avi Cohen?
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? if they're going to go with an ex-player, what's the difference between cohen/rosenthal and berkovitch? We need a proven coach who can take us to the next level, not someone unproven at this point. Countries like Brazil and Germany can take chances on Dunga and Klinnsman because they will always be Brazil/Germany. Israel will always be mediocore if they don't make some changes.
Re: Jürgen Klinsmann new manager of the Israeli national team? I can think of one difference. Avi Cohen and Ronny Rosenthal don't make outrageous statements in the press. But I agree with you. I don't think that any former player should take over just because of their playing career. It should be based on their skills as a manager. The Israeli press seems to forget that Raimondas Žutautas was an assistant manager at Panathinaikos and has training as a manager. Also, to compare us to Lithuania is pretty bad.
