Adu scores again for Aris... http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2010/02/adu-scores-again-in-aris-romp.html
Hehe... and I'm poised to be take over RSL. (They just don't know it yet... now, where did I put that $100 million again?...)
This was my favorite part of the interview. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. "It's very nice to get back with Coach Nowak," Seitz said. "It means a lot to me that he made the move to bring me here. It was a bold move, and I realize that. I'm honored, and I'm looking forward to playing under him again. I played some of my best ball beneath him." That's what she said! Honestly, he should've worded that a little differently.
I expect him to look pretty good early, and then look bad when his team starts leaking goals due to lack of defensive depth when injuries hit. IMHO, he cannot carry a defense.
to be honest I see this year being one of the two extremes for him. Either he will show what all the talk was about and be up there for goalie of the year (that would sting) or he will fall epically and it will be true that all the hype was just talk. I dont see it going in the "average" route simply because he wont have a solid D (or even semi solid) in front of him.
Ian Joy will fit in well with the Timbers and the Timbers Army. I wish him well. I wonder if he'll make the USL -> MLS jump in 2011.
Best thing for RSL is that if Seitz fails, waiting at the #2 position for Philly is our very own Mr. Swiss Cheese, Brad Knighton. Remember him? http://www.sportspagemagazine.com/content/sr/p-sr/ln-p-sr/real-salt-lake-rewrites-r.shtml?32208 [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjmDhryNSJ4&feature=related"]YouTube- Real Salt Lake - N.E. Revolution 6-0[/ame]
How Seitz fares will have a lot to do with how Philly's back line comes together and that's pretty unknown. I'd bet that his GAA will improve as the year goes on though. He showed some ridiculous length/reach/talent at times, and at other times looked lost, but you can learn your way around the latter. Personally, I think he'll improve a lot over the next few years.
Mike Lookingland apparently is now a goalie and got a red card for clobbering an opponent: Box score listing the red: http://www.pointstreak.com/prostats/boxscore.html?gameid=1162476 Youtube footage: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHf08ccwlZ8&feature=player_embedded"]YouTube- Soccer Goalie dropkicks player[/ame] Okay, so the box score is wrong. But still fun to watch.

I just laughed my ass off at that video. Thanks for posting it. I counted, and the ref held the red card up for a solid 16 seconds. That has to be some kind of record.
Not really an ex-RSL player, but related: http://mjpurpleaces.blogspot.com/2010/02/mellor-named-usl-technical-director.html
