It'll be a helluva day of footie, especially if the USMNT gets out of the group stages. All MLS said is that they wouldn't have games scheduled during the group stages, and for the final (and 3rd place game?).

    PPL Park? Nah
    Seaport Drive? Maybe

    Superfund Stadium... definitely.

also, is there any place to look to see what seats have already been selected (aside from our home-made spreadsheet)

Union are at home against San Jose the day of the third place match. Union game is at 5:30 PM. Third place match is at 20:30 GMT, which by my math is 3:30 PM. Hopefully they'll show it on the stadium screen, otherwise we'll have to have that tailgate sponsored by Panasonic and have them bring that trailer with the largest flatscreen in the world...

No games during the semifinals or finals. From what I remember, they didn't say anything about the 3rd place game.

Yeah, that much is apparent ... I couldn't find the quote though, not that I looked real hard either.

Another truss installed; that means three to go "over there", "that side" was finished earlier in the week.

Also a good bit of grading going on, looks like they dumping clean fill dirt.

Does anyone know if the Front Office will actually be included in the stadium? If so, where will it be? Are Front Offices typically at stadiums or located at some office building? Just wondering.

Right now they have their offices at the wharf at rivertown. That big old building next to the stadium.

will it be possible for this stadium to open in march or whenever philly's first game is? i'm not a philly fan, but i could really see this team's season being a disaster because they have so many road games at first and the crowds might look small in the eagles' stadium so people might lose interest.

The first home game is on April 10th, giving us only 2 months til completion. Ain't gonna happen. Hell, I think the 4 1/2 months until the Union's second home opener is still going to cut it close.

They crowd may appear small at the Linc, but there will be around 37K seats made available (the entire lower bowl). What's the current season ticket count for the Sounders compared to that? They'll play 2 games there, make sure the local media outlets (namely 6abc) keep the team on the forefront of the sports scene as much as possible, and we won't have to worry about the team being "out of sight, out of mind". And when they finally move down to Chester and open up PPL Park on June 27th, the capacity will be halved, which might put the tickets in higher demand since there will be less available.

How have MLS teams done in the past when they played most of the first three months of the season on the road, because of mid-season stadium completion or mid-season DP arrival? Not well, I think.

    HDC opened in June 2003.
LA Galaxy played 8 games on the road, going 0-4-4*. However they do win their first HDC home game. ;)

They've done better than I thought they had, so maybe the route the Union faces isn't as bad as I thought it was. I was worried that this schedule would have the Union out of the playoff chase before the stadium opened.

Well there are 3 different factors involved with the Union (good & bad).

1- Union is an expansion team. So they are trying to create chemistry and alignment as a new team while undergoing this difficult time. LA, Crew and Fire were all established teams BEFORE they did this.

2- Unlike these other teams, Philly will actually play at a friendly venue twice during this 12 week saga,

    3- NOWAK BABY!

Our construction cam sucks. The team has really fallen down on this one. Did they buy it at Walmart? You can't make out anything.
