It dawned on me last night that we really have no cover for Nyassi at right midfield at this point.

I think their first round pick played outside mid as well as forward. Might be a good place for him to get some PT

I like to imagine Schilawski as the new Darren Sawatzky.

According to the training camp roster posted in the other thread, Schilawski is signed to the senior roster, and EJ is signed. That leaves us with 2 senior slots (assuming the two un-signed draft picks go on the Dev Roster).

    Here's what I have now:
    SENIOR ROSTER (18/20)
    Kevin Alston
    Gabriel Badilla (I)
    Darrius Barnes
    Preston Burpo
    Mauricio Castro (I)
    Kheli Dube (I)
    Cory Gibbs
    Edgaras Jankauskas (I)
    Shalrie Joseph
    Abdoulie Mansally (I)
    Sainey Nyassi (I)
    Emmanuel Osei (I)
    Pat Phelan
    Matt Reis
    Zack Schilawski
    Chris Tierney
    Taylor Twellman
    Michael Videira

    OUT OF CONTRACT (1)
    Amaechi Igwe

    DEV ROSTER (2/4)
    Nico Colaluca
    Bobby Shuttleworth

    TRIALISTS
    Rylan Hawkins

    UNSIGNED DRAFT PICKS (2)
    Seth Sinovic
    Zak Boggs

Isn't the regular roster limit 22?

I don't think he ever got a legitimate shot to win the LB position. I think another MLS team should take him.

He's better than Chris Tierney, IMO, but maybe didn't want to play for a tiny contract?

Igwe had a perfectly legimitate shot - he was never injured and with all the other injuries, if he was the real deal he would have got his shot to lose. Instead he showed up as an overhyped youth apparently that did not really have the goods in Nicol's eye to be a pro.

A change of scenery is what will be required for him to see if it was just the Revs environment or is he going the way of Nik Besagno, Julian Valentin, and Memo Gonzalez. Although I am sure the tiny contract did not help either - but again, that is mostly his own fault...

Would it be so hard to report all players present (like if EJ is there) or are the Revs asking for the blog not to release that information?

There is a pic of EJ in the blog. He is in foxboro. No word on signing, but I have a hunch that he wouldn't even be in the country if something wasn't signed.

He's here but is it weird to anyone else a guy who hasn't yet re-signed is training with the team and there's no formal announcement he's officially a Rev (again) yet?

I don't think he would be training without a contract.

As for the formal announcement, they often don't have any. And, just as often they'll batch a few events in a single release (like the announcement of re-signing 3 players recently) - so that may add it in the next time they have something significant to release.

    REVOLUTION WAIVES AMAECHI IGWE
The Revolution has waived defender Amaechi Igwe, who spent three seasons in New England after being drafted by the club with the 12th overall pick of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft ... Igwe made a total of 22 regular-season appearances with the Revolution in 2008 and 2009 - including 11 starts - while he also made one postseason appearance in 2008.

So, I am confused - did the Revs waive Igwe, or did Igwe turn down a lower contract offer which then promopted the Revs to "officially" waive him?

The waive implies the Revs did not want him at all.

    Anyone else?
