We're on broadcast, but it isn't usually on the primary station. Our local NBC affiliate (KING) created an independent channel (KONG) to apparently show infomercials and reruns of Oprah and Dr. Phil on, so most games end up on KONG with a rare one appearing on KING. Plus side, we get to say we're on KING/KONG. That might explain Gorilla FC. Hmmmmmmm.

I know at some point RSL was shown on a local NBC affiliate, not sure about now.

Depends. Will Philly have some cells in the bowels of the stadium to hold people until they can be processed by the police?

About half of TFC's games (mostly the home matches) are broadcast nationally on CBC, with the other half split between Rogers Sportnet (a national cable sports network) and GolTV Canada (owned by TFC owners MLSE).

CBC has been TFC's main broadcast partner since the beginning.

I have watched a few of the TFC games on CBC. Nice to have that channel on my basic cable package.

    Whats the reach of 6abc?

King/kong is only Western Washington. I know they don't get it in Eastern WA. Not sure how far East it goes. Sometimes they show the games live on Fox Sports NW for those who don't get king/kong. But they do have the replays on FSNW regionally.

Agreed. I watch TFC home games whenever they're on CBC. It's also nice to compare the American announcers with the Canadian ones. Still haven't figured which irritate me more.

Yup, there should a good old fashioned section raising come Spring. They were upset that NYRB got buttons on their shirt though, way to modern for them.

The revs have had all their games* televised locally for years and years

Now espn games are not included.

Was it on ABC, NBC, CBS, or FOX? That's what broadcast means. Pretty much any channel that doesn't require you to have cable to be able to view them.

    Yes and no.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_England_Revolution_broadcasters

It's complicated, but at least some Revs games have been on broadcast TV since 2001 (WB, CW, and CBS affiliates). The rest of the non-nationally televised games have been on the local Fox Sports or CSN affiliate, which is obviously cable.

I don't think there were any Revs games on CSNNE in 2009, which would mean they were all on broadcast TV. Could be wrong about that, since I live on the fringes of the Boston media market.

Re: Philly have sold 9100 season tickets. Team president: We'll sell out 18,500 seats stadium

I know what broadcast TV means, but I think you don't. Most markets have 20 or so local channels, which include, but are not limited to ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.

Other broadcast channels include CW, Univison, Telefutura, Telemundo, Galavision and many local varieties (we get MTVTres where I am now)

The revs are on channel 38, which WAS UPN, but is now independent. But they get a lot of viewership as they have Jeopardy/Wheel and a popular news program.

Yes, I understand all of that. Just didn't feel like listing all the Korean, Vietnamese, Mexican, ect. channels. I went with the big ones that are pretty much everywhere in the US.

Is there going to be a dedicated area at PPL just for road/away fans?

Surely there's gonna be some sort of demand for tickets from DC, NY, toronto? etc

It seems a no-brainer but having 2 sets of fans at a game improves the atmosphere.

There will be an estimated 500-person away section available for all games. It's up to opposing fans to fill it.

I don't know if it's 500. I think it's 200 and is located in the back of 133 across the moat from The River End stand.

Awfully small, but at least it's bigger than Toronto's. Location, on the other hand, doesn't sound like a very good idea.

The moat doesn't appear to be very large and it sounds like there is going to be significant overspill from the SoB area into 133. Do you really want a couple hundred DCU and NYRB supporters within 10-15 feet of SoB, or less if you consider the SoBs that are in 133. I don't see what could possibly go wrong....

I did group them together with the DCU fans. So it could be 199 DCU fans and 1 NYRB fan. :D I was also being generous.
