Damn it, I won't calm down. I want pics of her with the new hairdo, both pair of glasses, and especially the claret blouse. I can't tell you how many times I've watched her in that blouse while holding the remote with my left hand. Oh dear, I've said too much.
We got a deal from our cable that if we put in a second digital box and kept a premium package, our monthly bill would actually go down $15! ...I agree with Panic. it's so nice to watch FSW in the bedroom.
I am liking FSW Report more & more every day. Michelle is still looking like quite the fashion plate these days. The 2 are related I think. I think J1 & Michelle have built up a good rapport now that the anchor schedule has become more regular. I like Hector but, I still wish we had more Bobby McMahon. Last but, not least. FREE J1!!!! Let the man post. At least have a weekly chat in here or something.
Why was Michelle alone on Saturday night? Was there a snowstorm? Was everybody else at the FSWR Christmas Party?
If J1 is reading this, do us a favor and tell Lissel to stop saying "irregardless." It sounds horrible. I am half expecting her to start dropping "ain't" into the show any day now.
I keep forgetting, to some a reasonable command of the English language is not an attractive feature. Maybe they can black out one of her teeth for her on camera appearance. That would be cool. Even the sickening blond idiots on NFL broadcasts are coached enough to use common usage. Michelle is better than this. I am all in favor of FSW's soccer cutie, honestly, but using non standard English is not a fault only found by "nitpickers," it really stands out. Michelle, it's regardless. Please. I am an avid viewer of the FSW Report. Don't drive me away to the lame voice overs on GolTV. Sorry to interupt this thread on watching FSW in the bedroom. Use moderation. I hope no one gets carpal tunnel repetitive stress injury.
I am not saying you don't have a point. It just gets annoying that every other post in here is "they mispronounced this" or "this is wrong". Let it go people. My favorites are the people who correct Carlos Machado on the proper pronunciation of Brazilian/Portuguese name -- HE'S FROM PORTUGAL YOU MORONS!!!!
It's an assumption based upon his inability to pronounce any English teams, players etc correctly. Or read an autocue. Or complete a sentence without stumbling over his words. He's useless, he really is. I vote for Solo Michelle every day of the week.
Irregardless is becoming pretty common, I won't be surprised to see it in the dictionary soon. Deal with it, words change. This doesn't mean she's going to be using slang or dropping more colloquialisms into her speech. Besides, maybe she does it on purpose. It may sound strange t me or you because of our backgrounds, maybe it doesn't to her, or maybe it does and she finds it funny and uses it. BTW, Carlos Machado is awful in his pronunciation of Brazilian/Portuguese names (and just about everything else - WTF is up with JuvenTOOSE?). I should know, I'm Brazilian. He doesn't seem Portuguese, although he's probably of Portuguese descent. Irregardless, that doesn't keep me from watching... just makes me wish I had a shot at the job. Then again, Carlos Machado is also a producer right?
Save the "English is an evolving, vibrant language so any stupid thing that falls out of someone's mouth is either being accepted or will be accepted as appropriate" for the Ebonics and NASCAR sets. It isn't the case. Check out the definition of irregardless at Meriam_Webster: http://www.m-w.com/ (you have to type in the word) It points out several things: 1. the word has been in usage since the early 20th century, 2. from the beginning, people have criticized its usage, and 3. I pulled this quote from the text: "Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead." While you can say that a dictionary would criticize the word as inappropriate because the editors could be seen as the guardians of the language, they are far more charitable to "ain't," another word many of us were taught as being totally inappropriate from our earliest days in school . So, no, irregardless is not some word that is rapidly gaining ground and is becoming part of the fabric of our changing world. It is a word that has been around and has been thought to be wrong for its 80 to 100 years of usage. I am not advocating an American version of the Acadamie Francais to protect our branch of the English language and I agree English is a world language now that is constantly picking up and creating new words. But there is such a thing as accepted common usage and irregardless has never made the cut. BTW, read Brain Droppings by George Carlin. Now there is a language Nazi. He really takes issue with a ton of words that are misused or inappropriate. And the book is freaking funny as hell. And, hey, I think Michelle's cheery, sincere, girl- next-door cuteness is wonderful. I could care less how she pronounces names whose pronounciation I do not know either. But I hold Canadians to a higher standard as being the most civilized North Americans so beg her to make this one little change for me. Then she will be perfect.
