I see Douglas Costa (apparently the new Ronaldinho) has signed for Shakhtar Donesk for £5 million quid. Is this the same Douglas Costa we were offering 12-15 million for in the Summer? How do talented youngsters like this slip under the radar and sign for a Ukranian side for a third of the money. I understand Gremio were chancing their arm due to the massive fee we recieved for Ronaldo, but surely there is room for negotiation between the 5 million he went for and the 12 million we tabled. This deals has a whiff of cutting our nose off to spite our face.

Also did I read somewhere that our net spend on players since the Glazers arrived is just £1.5million, I know that the Ronaldo sale contraed a lot of the spending but seriously where is the yearly warchest and the investment in players we were promised.

    Rant over, feel better now!

i do wonder if some of these eastern european teams offer 'other' financial incentives to get first dibs and make profit off these brazilians

Ronaldo was sold for 80 million GBP.

That means prior to his sale, last year, you would be saying that our net spending was 78.5 million GBP.

Think about it. Don't be stupid.

I've always wanted to check Cesar's passport - after seeing the likes of Dida, Doni, and co I have a hard time believing he's Brazilian.

Julio Sergio is a class keeper in my opinion, his saves for Roma against Lazio (I was at the game, the fans their jaw dropped) when he saved mauri reflex shot. He is the number keeper in Rome now, before Doni. I like him

Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Lose ball. Pass. Pass. Interception. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Pass. Poor control, Pass. Pass...

We desperately need player to be direct and take the opposition on instead of passing it around until someone loses the ball. Forget about Ronaldo's goals. It is his direct style of play that we miss. Nani should have provided that but he is clearly getting shipped out. Without those two our attacking midfield is frankly shit. This is one of the worst groups of players we have had in my memory. Ferguson needs to go out and start improving the squad even if it means we end up paying a premium. The current situation is unacceptable.

Uh yeah. For example, Anderson cost £18mil. Im sure we are not getting less than £15 mil if we sell him.

No way in hell we get more than 12 for Anderson and we sure as shit won't get more than 10 for Nani.

If Barcelona, just mentioning... wants Anderson, we are not getting less than £15mil. Even with Anderson's inconsistent performances, he still only 21 and and clearly has talent, that we havnt gotten the best of.

If Benfica want Nani, we are definitely getting more than £10 mil.

Both players can still go on to become world beaters. I could easily see Anderson being the player some of us know he can be in Barcelona's team. If he does become that player then £15mil aint nuthin for him.

the 9 would be nice about now. there was some talk about this amongst journalists. Patrick Barclay in particular mentioned it would be best for both Gerrard and his team to sell him. for them so they can get cash to rebuild and for him since it his last chance to get a big move to actually win the PL or a new league and have a shot at the CL again

Sounds nice, but he wont sell him to us.

Either that, or City or Chelsea will pay crazy money for him.

barca? theres plenty better players out there

anderson probably wouldnt fit in their system unless they drop iniesta, who is vastly superior

i could see anderson at the likes of ac milan though....so u are probably right about the fee

I suspect we'd get nothing more than 12m for Anderson, and 7m for Nani. We'd probably get those fees initially, + clauses raising the fees to 17 and 12 respectfully.

It's all a moot point because I don't think the rumors are true.
