i think i got one 2-3 years ago... you go to like an informational meeting @ a hotel or something then they have you pay a good amount of money 2 or 3k i think....then you're on the team.. i don't think it counts like an odp thing or anything... if u go to it let us know or pm me and tell me what happens

He posted this on the coaching part of this site. I asked him for more info.

I wonder how they got his name? I would get stuff on taking teams to Europe as a coach from people I don't know. They want to be my new friend :) I don't make new friends easily.

I wish I wasn't so parnoid because it sounds like a scam to me. If it isn't a scam it's half a scam.

I don't think they really care if the teams are good or not. They just want to send teams. They must be a travel agent. They probably care about more if the player or teams can pay to go, and not sending representative teams to real tournaments.

    Nail hit hard and square!!!
This is an advertisement for a money hungry tour group. They do NOT care who goes---just who pays!
This person claims to play for the Wichita Wizards---but he is a YOUTH player---go figure. These tour groups target the YOUTH and let them think they will be playing international soccer.

I got another one from a company called People to People. Did anyone else? These sound so fun, but when I find out I have to pay millions of dollars to play it is stupid.

I also got one of these, and its true they do send one out to most youth players in the nation. It is kind of a way to tour other countries while representing the US in some youth tournaments that most of us have never heard of. For most of the move priviledged kids, its a way to see Australia, the Carribean, Aruba, Hawaii, Italy, England/Scotland, or Sweden/Denmark while playing a game they love. Its not only soccer, but also things like Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Swimming, Golf, Tennis, Ect.

I actually went on one of these teen tours last summer, but it wasn't a sports tour. It was a tour of Europe (England, Amsterdam (just the city), Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Italy). It was a litle pricy but it was definatly one of the greatest experiances of my life. The only footy I got to see was Ajax training for the cup they played with Inter and some other teams. Spiro, I defiatly would not recommend People 2 People. Their tourguides are 70 years old and you have to wear a goofy nametag thing everywhere. My personal choice would be go with Westcoast Connection. http://www.westcoastconnection.com. Their tour leaders are all in their 20's and there is no nametag or keychain or hat you have to wear around. Its all just good fun.

Anyway, if you go to one of these thinsg, dont expect to be playing high-level international soccer. Look at it as a way to see another part of the world w/o your parents, while playing some footy and hopefully having those you beat respect your country somewhat.
