As always, I'd like to point out that a significant number of fans have jobs.

Thanks for the 2pm start time.

You can also send in questions before the chat itself.

that's great and all, but why not just schedule at 6 or something when people can actually participate?

If we're all going to send stuff in early, that's not so much of a chat.*

Like, what if the first question is "What are our offseason plans?" and MM answers "We got signed contracts with Rooney and Fabregas, plus we've resigned GBS for $1, because he loves Columbus". Suddenly, my submitted "Any forwards on the horizon" question seems a bit repetitive.

*not a knock on foozer, who pointed out the fact you can submit questions early. I just dislike the system and the fact every chat is mid-day. Hell, even Jim Smith did an evening chat once, and maybe even Nee early in the reign.

Mr. McCullers, in your expert opinion, how do we get a local owner? Thanks.

Rember the one on matchnight with Kyle Martino where someone asked him if he accepted Jesus in his heart as his personal savior?(A reaction to the '03 commercial where he said soccer was a religion.)

Martino responded, "Jesus, yeah I love that dude."

Everyone needs to ask about getting a new strength and conditioning coach. Just bombard him with questions about this. I really don't understand why we didn't bring one in when Tashjian left.

Thanks for the idea. I just sent in a question asking why we didn't replace him.

Mark, Have you read "The Tipping Point"?

I book-on-tape'd it. Its pretty good. Changes how you see things. Especially about how trends to catch on.

I think Bigsoccer is a Maven trap.

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each wraithlike BigSoccer member wrought their angst upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the reason; vainly questioned the fraternal demons
From BigSoccer about next season, a solution for the lack of score--
From BS about next season an answer, please, for the lack of score--
    Quoth the maven, "Nevermore."

Ah, Jesus. I like him very much, but he no help me hit the curveball.

Are you trying to say that Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?

Martino's shining moment as a member of the Crew.

I always wonder what Martino could have become had he not been hacked down in that Confederations Cup game vs. (?)Cameroon. He never was the same player after that; always tentative to run at players. I guess that didn't affect his work rate and propensity to put barbecues and chilling with his guitar ahead of practice though.

In point of fact, Martino wasn't supposed to be taking players on. He was supposed to distribute, and his problems came down to not getting the ball off of his foot quickly enough and not being big and/or strong enough to hold off challenges.

His tactical speed and recognition were well below what he needed to overcome his physical shortcomings, and his skills were worthless when he was lying on his ass because he couldn't get rid of the rock.

And of course there was the problem with Bruce Arena saying publicly that Martino was "the next USA ten shirt" after Reyna. He became impossible to coach after that, not that Zippy was likely to be able to teach him anything anyway, but he figured he was hot shit.

    He wasn't.

I kept thinking "when it this guy going to get on a weight-lifting program". He looked like a stick and his legs like pipe cleaners.

I'm suprised they let that GBS question go through. McCullers response was to the point. We scored more without him. If you don't get season tickets we can't buy the next DP.

Negotiating in the media is fun!

I submitted a question about the parking and other possible stadium improvements yesterday :)

Since it has not been answered yet (at 2:46) I am guessing that means it won't be answered? Is he really sitting there answering these questions live? If so, that is really stupid. Even so, this is in no way a "Live Chat." Maybe a live response, but in no way is this a chat.

The Crew front office should have a link on their website to field these questions regularly, and every week someone (not always McCullers) should reply and they could post the "Question and Answers" online. Don't bother with this "Live" farce.

Of course the minute I made my above post, a response to my question appears from McCullers. A little vague for my taste, but whatever . . .

Especially with their Twitter, FB, Myspace, or even the B&G standard options. They could have done this a lot better. Allowing follow-ups and such.

Perhaps with MLS running their own website in the future, there will be improvements in this content.
