I don't want to get off track, but I thought Mexico was going to get 4 spots.

tough group for mexico 1 there! that is the group to watch.

about group 8: Colo Colo is already in the Copa? they haven't won the title yet.

they would play Boca again that's interesting.

    good draw

solid draw for both mexican teams.

from group one, the hardest will be sao caetano, peñarol is beatable, that would leave the strongest to actually be the weakest.:D

2nd mexican club should get to the next round.

from group three, cruzeiro is definitely the hardest to beat. u. concepcion and caracas are very beatable.

1st mexican club should also get to the next round...easily!.

the group of death IMO is group 9, i mean come on...curitiba - solid brazilian club, rosario central - solid argie club, olimpia - big paraguayan club and sporting cristal - big peruvian club.

Could Group 5 be any weaker?

Anyways, I think its pretty fair for the Mexican entries. Cruzeiro is the only other heavyweight in Group 5, but Group 1 is pretty stacked.

At least my team (Santos) has an easy draw.
    VAI O PEIXE!!!

I wouldn't count on Caracas FC being an easy team. Caracas FC has made it to the quarterfinals in CL.
    2002-2003 Venezuelan champions
    2003 Apertura Champions

    Main players:
Stalin Rivas: I think he was 1994 CL leading scorer.
Players from the Venezuelan national team: Luis Vallenilla, Luis Vera, Mea Vitali, Andres Rouga.

Group 1 reminds me of last years group for Penarol where they were fighting for second place with the Pumas and another Bolivian side, Bolivar, after Gremio (yet another Brasilian side). Penarol is looking improved so far this year, so I think that they have a decent shot, but it will again be tough.

Does your team have any players that have been playing in the National team during the S.A WC '06 Qualifiers? If i'm not mistaken, Vera is one of them?

Even though I hate the team (and I do) they do have a solid group... Vallenilla (he might be coming to my team), Vera, Mea Vitalli are regulars in the starting 11... Rouga, Vizcarrondo are 2 U-23 players that have creeped up into the National team... Stalin Rivas, even though he's old, he still has talent... and possibly Rey and Rojas (both National team starting 11 regulars) may return from loan from Emelec.

You may remember Rey, because he scored the first gol vs. Bolivia in that amazing WCQ2006 game

2 teams in 2004 and 3 in 2005! now they can play the octogonal to select 2 reps... knowing who the rivals are going to be.

I would say Tigres and Atlante are the ones who will qualify.

I think chivas has had a tremendous boost with bofo and specially carmona.
Chivas should qualify but i think they are gonna choke.

    Santos has no chance.

    Monarcas has no chance.

    Toluca will fall short.

    America will choke.

    Atlas? are you kidding?

Por que no le das chance al america? si no pasan le costara el puesto al holandes.

Por otro lado, chivas, llega bien, pero los 2 nuevos no CREO que esten listos para el sistema y sus Nuevos compañeros.

    Morelia = atlas

tigres se desquita de toluca y Santos con atlante?

toughest group is either four or nine.

weekest is two. look at it.

i might reevaluate after we see who 3rd peru and colombia teams and which mexi teams make it.
