I still have a couple of Blitzz 2001 National Champions shirts. Their other title came in 2004 just a couple of weeks before RSL announced its name. The Blitzz shut down operations shortly after that (as they would have likely had a tought time competing for a fan base) and as far as I know, there never were any championship shirts for that title.
Saw an ad somewhere that said that they'd have some small quantities of the other stuff starting at noon at the South Towne Mall--something like 300 shirts and 100 scarves. I think I'll be waiting for the rest of it to show up. Can't stand the Black Friday frenzy myself. Which is why I'm at work, and not at the mall.
Thank you soccer fans around the country for your kind remarks. RSL deserved this win and I was too glad to be there.
We would all cheer for a San Diego nonstop In the Paper version of today's Salt Lake Tribune, there was a one page ad from Jet Blue, congratulating RSL on winning the cup.
Re: We would all cheer for a San Diego nonstop saw that, it was classy and very cool. glad to have them "on board" as well
Re: We would all cheer for a San Diego nonstop Dave and the former CEO of JetBlue are buddies, I believe (has anybody read "The Mormon Way of Doing Business (let the commentary begin)). I don't know if David Neeleman is still connected to JetBlue today, but one would think so from the support that Real receives from JetBlue.
Re: We would all cheer for a San Diego nonstop Checketts used to be on the Jet Blue board, not sure if he still is. I'd be shocked if they also hadn't partnered somewhere financially along the way.
Jet Blue is the only airline worth flying. Just remember what Delta stands for: Deliver Everyone Late Through Atlanta. Ceterum censeo Colorado esse delendam
Today's print version of the Trib says that Monday's print version will have a special RSL Championship section. Jet Blue will end up in Outer Darkness if they don't bring back their nonstops to the places I fly to most often. (SAN, LAS & SFO) But if they arrange a reasonable charter to SJO, SAP or MTY or wherever RSL has an away CCL match, then all is forgiven.
I think Mr. California (or is it Mr. Oquirrh now?) is trying to state the shorthand version of several locations he wishes JetBlue had direct flights to. I think.
Prime is right. The ad in the Trib was nice, but JetBlue needs to spend their money on flights to places where I have free babysitting. Our other new favorite team besides Atlante is Costa Rican side Liberia. They are pretty high in the Tico table now. They are located in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, near some beaches that are supposed to be beautiful. A Jet Blue charter in early March to the away game near some nice beaches would make me forget about them cutting down my access to free babysitting.
Wow, despite all my excitement about CCL, I hadn't even thought of the possibility to make a tropical vacation out of an away game.
after reading through several pages of blog comments on the Max Hall comments/"apology", I have a strong urge to flame the throwball crowd. It's times like these that I'm really glad I "converted" to soccer! Do you think the GK's of the league have similar angst towards opposing fans? It all seems pretty tame and pretty silly from a futbol perspective.
Pablo did stuff an RSL jersey down his shorts. Happens in all sports and I'm thankful for it. Makes the rivalries so much more fun!
Guess you've never followed the Old Firm in Scotland, have you? A simple act of a player crossing themselves is enough to set people off. Ceterum censeo Colorado esse delendam
who cares about the byu v utah game? Was it just me, or did that game just not really matter this year at all? max hall can go ******** himself (he will throw another pick on the way) does he not realize the president of his church wears red? talk about epic failure I would love to hear that phone call: Max: hello? Monson: Hi, is Brother Hall there? Max: This is him... Monson: Hey max, this is president Monson, the "classless" Utah fan and president of the LDS church Max: I am so sorry President Monson, its just those fans at the utah game t... Monson: Its fine, just dont blow that amazing Vegas bowl you always end up at. Max: um, ok President Monson: ....... Max: President Monson? Monson: Oh sorry Max, I was looking at my sugar bowl championship shirt and smiling. Have a good day.
I've been following Indios since they made it to Primera División in 07-08 (they've only existed since 2005, moving up to Mexico's top flight from Primera División A after only three seasons). I work in Juarez often, and will be traveling there frequently over the next year, so I hope to get in a match or two. Would be cool if they happened to play RSL in CCL (but won't hold my breath). They're in the process of building a 45K stadium, and I hope to check it out.
My point was that while unlikely, if you're looking for a real top notch vacation spot, Juarez isn't the place. It's not bad, neither is Tegucigalpa, but with how the draw works, that would be about as average as it gets.
The Quakes did "win" something the season before: the "Wooden Spoon", . Anyway, congrats to RSL on winning the league and added on to the amazing records of CCC winners (all but one of them have gone on to win the SS or MLS Cup). NE & other teams who have never won the SS/MLSC should seriously consider taking part (& win it),
Congrats RSL!! It was a fun game to watch! Also...Thanks, Donovan of the Galaxy, for providing the comic relief at the end of the game. That crazy shot at the end when he kicked it off into the galaxy somewhere was great for a laugh! Great job, RSL!
I was proud to wear my RSL "MLS Champions" t-shirt to play in today's noon pickup soccer game here at UI. Neat!
