If true, what are the chances Sigi negotiated a trade to get him to Seattle? Would not surprise me one bit.
If this is true - All I have to say is.... the IDIOTS!!!! McCullers will be laughing all the way to the bank to spend whatever we were wasting on Mollasses. This my friends, is what's called a result! (if true)
I appreciate what Moreno did for this team, and his 2008 cannot be overlooked. That said, losing Moreno in the expansion draft is about as good a result as you could want, I think. I'm not sure how prominently he figured in the 2010 plans. The shame of it, though, is that by all accounts Moreno is a fantastic guy and a solid professional. It's that awful part where business mixes with personal, and while one understands the business aspect it's rough to see a good guy go. I much prefer watching clowns get jerked around.
This is exactly how I feel about it. Ale was right there with GBS for me as a legend of the 2008 club, and I won't forget that. I'm not thrilled about seeing him go (if true) for that reason.
You guys speak the truth. I won't be forgetting Moreno's goal to start the scoring in the 2008 MLS Cup any time soon.
Yeah, it would be better if he was a clown but sentiment doesn't come into it as far as I'm concerned. Only one winner if it's true and that's us. We could have lost either of our top class (for mls) full-backs, instead we lose a 5 goals-a-season striker. I'll say it again - if it's true it's a result.
Alejandro Moreno and Shavar Thomas confirmed by SBI as selected in expansion draft. Still waiting for official list to be announced - ives
You know, I have been wondering how Moreno got such a reputation (at least in the eyes of MLS officials) for being a diver when a guy like Blanco goes unscathed....
Moreno confirmed. Wow, we certainly made out like bandits. Hopefully next seasons expansion draft goes just as well.
