The one guy from my list that didn't match the team's, and he gets taken. I would have liked to watch him develop for us, but I guess they are putting their faith in Szetela.

Is Josh Gros leaking info to Goff?

Anyone else listening to the announcement ? - MLS really should mute the call until the official announcement starts, although some of the background converstations have been interesting

KC, RSL, Dallas, Toronto and Houston did not lose anyone in expansion draft

How does this happen? RSL, Houston and Toronto don't lose anyone...and we do? Soccer isn't fair! (This is a frustration release)

    Update on my frustration...
RSL does not lose a player...because...
"As reported earlier on the Insider's Twitter feed, Union has acquired goalkeeper Chris Seitz from RSL for allocation money and the promise not to select any of its players in the expansion draft. "

He's a fan favorite in Seattle, one of the players that came over from the USL Sounders. I'm sure they're not too happy now.

DCU losing Jacobsen (at best a #14/15 player) is not nearly as bad as Columbus losing Moreno

To me, This moreno pick seems a bit fishy. I dont know why, maybe as bait for a trade, it just doesnt seem right.

I don't know what Moreno's contract situation is, but I think he's a high dollar player. They have some talented young forwards there in Garey and the spaz with the blonde fro.

The real prizes in that group are Harvey, Miglioranzi, Zimmerman, and Le Toux. Everyone else, including Moreno, is a big 'meh'.

Combined with the retirement of Olsen it could prove to be a problem. Szetela now has to prove himself, and I would assume either/or Gomez or Fred will definately come back next year.

I must admit that I was shocked nobody was picked from Houston!

How about the team picking up a 24 year old and a 22 year old keeper. After seeing the success the Sounders had with a veteran keeper to stabilize the back line, you would think they would pickup a guy like Hartman.

Grrr!! He's right. I thought that Tommy didn't know how to coach him (or anyone else mind you). Major suck. I would have liked to have seen McTavish go instead.

I think losing Jacobson is going to haunt DC United for the next few years.

Not necessarily. Jacobson really competed with Simms and Szetela for playing time, now those two will unless the new coach looks to use Szetela in a more offensive role in midfield. Add Barklage and McTavish for depth and neither Fred nor Gomez is a "sure thing" for coming back. Additionally, if the options aren't picked up on Luci, Gomez and Ben's salary now back in the mix, the FO could look for a #10 overseas and use the remaining names mentioned as holding MF's. The interesting issue is that if real salary cap space is cleared, is one of Simms or Szetela shopped around the league?

Thats what a lot of people here thought when Toronto picked up Rod Dyachenko in the expansion draft. He'd had a year here in which he looked pretty good, and lots of pundits here regretted his departure. So we traded away picks and money to get his rights back from Toronto, and he then proceeded to stink for us. We'll just have to see what we lost.

Personally, I really would have favored exposing Burch over Jacobson -- not because I think Jacobson is all that, but because I'm confident Burch isn't. But we'll just have to see.

    We need better wing play.

Zimmerman's a steal. He's had some very promising moments for the abortion in New York this season.........and he costs nothing.

Jacobsen's an OK player. I liked him well enough. But it's not like we lost an impact player.

I'm going to reserve judgement until I see what other moves happen this off-season.

    Presumably................we have a plan??????????????????????????
