The "pro-Filth" announcers are disgusting. I want to vomit whenever I hear that crap. The announcers for these games should be neutral. Certainly, I expect to get homer announcers in season when it's a local team doing the broadcast. But for the playoffs and the final, you have to assume that there will be a fair number of fans of both clubs watching, and, and, AND!!! if MLS want to promote the Cup winners, as they are, then you need to be even-handed so that if the lowly, lightly-regarded, non-chosen, non-media-darling SaltLickers should win, you don't look and sound disappointed.

The short-sighted, navel-gazing filth that run MLS think that everyone loves the filthy galactorhoids. While it might be true that they are "the most popular" team in the league, it is most definitely true that they are "the most hated team" in the league also.

Hopefull, MLS continues to grow up and we get less and less of this crap as the years roll by.

    Go Quakes!!!
    fuaeg!!!!!!! :p

They need to send out barf bags with the television bill if they're going to plant that sappy camera hog galexi in our faces on national tv. His unctuous fawning over his fave team was not only revolting but did make MLS look about as amateur as your average 3rd grade talent show. It would have been worth the price of a plane ticket to Seattle to have had the opportunity to accidentally drop a bottle of green gatorade on his head while he was busting his gut explaining how impossible it was for LA to lose. Ah, missed opportunities...

“I just put it in the air. You know, it is probably partially due to tired legs and not concentrating in the moment.”

It was meant as an honest statement. It came across as an excuse. And it’s one which doesn’t really cut it for a player who wants to match himself against the very best.

As Landon Donovan moves forward, wherever that may be, the old doubts, questions and suspicions remain.

Maybe we should start calling LAndy , LAter!

Yeah, I can't quit doing that. Besides I've seen a lot of Brazilian players in J-League, some of them work out and a lot don't. If one thing Japan soccer likes to do it is buy Brazilian.

Certainly not all Brazilian players or gems. I think however, if the MLS started doing a little better (and More) scouting down there, they could possibly come up with a few gems like a a Pato or a Kaka....Kaka went to Italy on a shoestring salary and was sold for millions after having given 5 years of service to AC Milan.

Probably true. A country that huge, with so much soccer talent, and a messed up domestic league to boot, just seems ripe for the picking. And the guys that wind up playing here are sometimes the guys that just happen to be here to get an education (like Rodrigo Faria and Pablo Campos). Even these guys do OK, so in theory you'd think you could do even better with guys who are invited here specifically to play professional soccer.

Narcissus blows. He'll screw up in South Africa. Part of the reason that Bradley has been more successful than Da Bruce with Narcissus is because he plays Narcissus at forward (mostly anyway) and thus, the evil, streaky, spineless git has less weight to shoulder. If he doesn't have to be the attacking midfielder, he plays better. When he can be "just a forward" he's not too bad. But come World Cup time, he's going to get stuck early in the first game and then disappear until at least the second half of the third game.

Narcissus got much of the blame for our disastrous '06 Cup and he should have. I fully expect Narcissus to disappear in South Africa. Mind you, I hope he's a beast, but I'll be shocked if he can find his mojo.

And el-lay still sucks like a Dyson!

    Go Quakes!!

And did you notice that whining little douche-bag Narcissus just re-upped with the evil empire?!

So he might have been able to go to Europe, probably for more money, but maybe not to a top flight team, but certainly to a better quality league than MLS. (Hey, neither the Quakes nor the LaughingCows play in any second divisions in Europe.) Instead, pathetic, whining, wimpy, ballless Narcissus elects to commit the next four years to his backwater homeside. He's never going to Europe, he's never going to show well in the World Cup, he's never gonig to step up his game any. He's content to carry on as he is. Turd.

    Go Quakes!!

Sure. Sometimes Bradley plays Narcissus at forward, sometimes at one of the outside mid spots. The point is that Bradley doesn't play Narcissus at center mid. Cakes only has to be a great attacking player. (Which makes a lot of sense.) He doesn't have to make a lot of tackles or cover a lot on defense. Narcissus doesn't have to run the midfield for us.

When Bruce used Cakes as our center mid, he wilted. Bradley doesn't play him at center mid. That's really all I was getting at.

And he's going to suck in South Africa because he's a wimp.

    Go Quakes!

el-lay is an open festering sore that sucks the lifeblood from the Southwestern US and Northern Mexico. It is a vile wasteland. Forced relocation may be the only answer.

    Go Quakes!!!

I would recommend forced relocation to Death Valley and the Mojave.
