I swear it's a time honored tradition that every few years or so ScumUnited player must kick someone right square in the chest. The rags call that "Proper Football".
United should have had a penalty for the JT/Valencia incident. I think that's pretty clear. A lot of people are saying Fletcher won the ball on our free kick leading to the goal. Well... no he didn't. The ball brushed against him as it went past his foot. He didn't win it in any way shape or form. He also went straight through Ashley Cole. It's a foul. Drogba was not in an offside position, so active/inactive is irrelevant. He did pull Brown's arm a bit but please? He went down like a small child. And ya know... Evans.
Correct answer. The referee actually did see this as well. I am sure the young gobshite Evans was frustrated - his team were losing after all - and Carv was time wasting. However, you are not allowed to just kick a players legs away because you are feeling petulant and upset. Straight red for Evans. Un-fecking-believable refereeing - he clearly didn't see the incident and yet was somehow able to award a yellow. . .
Drogba 'seizing' on the ground was quite funny actually. The officiating wasn't the best, but it's Man United so hey, who cares?
Gee, what a surprise. Thankfully we have the international break. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_5684310,00.html Look, sometimes you can be a rational person but when you go around acting like you're the shit and playing the victim like you are now, it gets annoying. You can whine all you want about the ref decisions but maybe if United hadn't spent their energy complaining to refs they might have not lost.
Personally I thought it was very weak and had nothing in it at all, I'd not expect that to be given down the other end either. Might as well turn the sport into a non-contact affair if those are going to be called up.
lol, he's Father Jack through and through. BALL! CARD! DRINK! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5684576,00.html
I dont know what is more ironic a Porto fan taking the moral highground on diving or benni doing his best teso impression lets all move on from both posters please.
regarding the game from a neutrals perspective, a draw would have been a fair result on the day, but we did enough to sneak the win and so be it. I really dont feel any shame at all in saying that because we all know in the World of swings and roundabouts in football we have been on the other end of this result on many occasions. The recent game with Villa certianly springs to mind, when we should have and could have got a point at the minimum and ended with nothing. the blinkered view from the Man Utd minority aside- Evans was lucky to stay on the pitch. His foul on Drogba is a yellow at the minimum and who knows what would have occured after the foul was awarded. The second offence was a straight red on any pitch- enough said. Ultimately I would have been a wee disapointed if we would have not won the game considering the injuries to Utd, but they really showed some guts (as expected) and made the game very difficult. For all of the moaning about the ref- I feel he missed calls for both teams. Through my blue tinted specs he was a little harsher on us, but so be it. Thought Ivanovic was our MOTM with Anelka putting in a good shift. Was relatively impressed with the defence. We struggled at times in the middle of the pitch with Deco (shock of all shocks) being by far the worst out there. Have to say that Rooney is such a menace and if we could take one player off any other team in the Prem atm- it would be him for me.
I thought Drogba was our worst. It's like he forgot how to pass the ball taking shots whenever he could no matter how impossible of an angle he was at. As for Rooney, he had a good "youtube" game where he seemed threatening, but we had him boxed out good.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_prem/8349614.stm shocked to hear this. Almost fell out of my chair.
Ferguson is a turd. Who cares? We beat Utd on a JT set piece header, and we're five points clear at the top. What a great day!!!
Yesterday was one of those days we live for as Chelsea fans (and neutrals who hate MU): Evans boot to Drogba's chest should convince some people that DD does take a physical pounding that usually goes unseen. Most of Evans behaviour on the pitch shows he fits right in at "The Religion". WR was at his whinging best. When we get under his skin like that, he only lacks a baby's cap (which my imagination amply provides). He would have thrown his dummy at the camera, but he'd thrown it out the pram long before the final whistle. Sir Alex Puffsandstrutsalot bashed the referee and (no surprise) will receive absolutely no punishment. Fletcher totally lost his rag and by the end was just a screaming incoherent joke. A great game.
I think that is perhaps my one criticism of CA, from a neutral standpoint... well almost neutral, it seems from what i gather, that being a top flight coach in the prem you have to fight a war of words, to ensure refs make calls in your favor down the line. Maybe it's because he lacks a touch of confidence in his english to slam a ref or play mind games with other teams managers. But he doesn't do it. And that may be the reason that no News Orgs are picking up on the Jonny Cantona on Drogba. But aside from that CA is about as good as Manager alive IMO.
Ancelotti is keeping quiet for the most part and it's working out just fine for him. The players seem to enjoy playing for him and that's all that matters. We have an experienced squad that doesn't need to be protected from the media or Sir Alex or whoever. He's not Jose and as long as he is getting results he doesn't have to be anything like him for me.
I actually think by not saying anything it makes it more obvious how much of a jackass SAF is being at the moment with his criticism of the refs.
Evans should be doing time in jail That is where Butch Wilkins comes in. He can speak for the gaffer more effectively. You saw this after Drogba was assaulted by that young punk Evans, who I am sure has been enshrined into manure lore. I was watching the highlights again & I started to get pissed after watching Vidic laughing at Drogba laying on the ground. I hate to type this, but I am going to start rooting for Sperz in hope they can pass manure in the standings. I really hate manure & I can't believe anything Chelsea did could condone the actions of Evans against the Blues. The guy was uncontrollable & something should be done about this
Re: Evans should be doing time in jail The Scot felt the free-kick from which John Terry scored the winner should not have been awarded, and that Wes Brown was fouled as it went in. "You lose faith in refereeing, that's the way the players see it," he said. Y'see, it's not HIM that's having a go at the ref and calling them shit. He's just reporting what the players are saying... it's not his fault. Jesus, could he BE any more lame? Yep, that's a big plus too
Re: Evans should be doing time in jail I wouldn't do anything that drastic--get a grip on yourself, man.
