My guess is that he received the number from some where, but as far as I know, the lower bowl is completely open and if that only holds 12,000 fans than that 27,000 number is a load of BS.

In addition, this makes no sense, since we seem to get a minimum of 16,000 to the average match.

Was this the same number that the Superliga final a few years ago was capped at?

This was my thinking. Plus when the playoff tix went on sale, I asked my Galaxy service rep why the upper deck wasn't available and she told me they wanted to fill the bowl first.

Now they may have changed their mind and capped it, but why would they? I'll try and get hold of them and find out if this is true.

If Chivas has 19,000 tickets sold for their first game like they say they do. . .there's not f-ing way the Galaxy is going to put a hard cap at 12k or even 16k.

*** JUST SPOKE TO MY ACCOUNT REP ***

Apparently this is bollocks. On further investigation it seems Mr Loney was referring to something Nick Greene wrote, which in turn was also bollocks.

There's NO CAP people!! Let's fill this puppy!!

....Wow...have I really got that American?

I have season seats in the second level and the bumped us down saying they were not making the 200 level available, but just as I read this thread my rep called to let me know they opened the 200 level about 20 minutes ago so they are in fact going for a 27k sellout! I was also concerned that maybe it was a Dominguez Hills issue again but looks like we're wide open!

WOW - Mr. Chivas Supporter and DB Hater had bad information about the Galaxy, what a surprise. I am shocked.

I think I saw that post, he was mumbling about the Berm and AEG' supposedly manipulating the attendance figures. It didn't seem like he had his facts straight. Probably comes from hanging around with GLJ of the Times too much.

It's possible that the 12,000 number is for a weeknight game per AEG's agreement with CSUDH.

I think the 12,000 cap only comes into play when the game doesn't have X number of weeks notice to the school

So first they tell me my upper deck seats not available, so next thing you know, i am sitting in $75 face value seats downstairs.. cool )paid $12)
    -
Then get a email asking if I want to move back upstairs... yeh, right !!
    =
    What a mess....
    =
Just hope the upper deck, the hillside, the folding chairs are all being sold and will fill the joint....

Well if yesterday was any indication... CUSA almost sold out the deck, there had to have been around 25,000 in house.

I don't remember how much notice they have to give, but if they were smart, they would have given notice as soon as the Galaxy clinched a playoff spot. That would be over a month ahead of time.

I've heard what the notice is, but I don't remember. It was announced by the broadcasters during the Galaxy-Pachuca SuperLiga Final.

That's probably why we just found out this week that that's the date. It's probably the 2 weeks notice they gave the CSUDH people.

Also, is this game already sold out? Ticketmaster says the tickets are not available. That's the message that usually comes up when an event is sold out

I also was at the Chivas home game.. It was weird.. and I confirmed this on TV when i watched it later, the upper deck almost empty at kickoff. I look about 1/2 through first half, almost full..
    -
I think Chivas did simiar to LAG.. They put as much of the presale in the lower deck to look decent on TV and then I am guessing, they puit all the walkup in the upperdeck.. no need for the hillside
    -
Now, if the LAG have decided more than a week before their home game to open the upper deck, I would expect to be well filled and if that goes, they hold the hillside for walkups...
    -
I still contend it was a combination of making the TV side look good for TV and this is a long shot, moving all the upper deck season ticket people down below closer to he action.... a thank you gesture?

I kinda thought that all those people who filled the upper deck were stuck in the Eternal Chiva line for will call and "promotional" tickets. They basically gave away tickets on spanish radio. BTW - I will never ever use will call again. What a pain, I almost missed kickoff due to the 45 min line for will call. What a cluster

I'd rather pay ticketbastard fees for e tickets. I knew it would be like that yesterday because they weren't giving buyers the eticket option or the mail option. Will Call Only. I'm sure that's why the game started a lot later than it was supposed to. Hopefully LA FO learns from this.
