Old-school rap, perhaps - but (thankfully) not gangsta rap.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
OMG! I'm crying again! I thought I was over this. But once they started singing our songs I was gone. Just gone! I love those boys! Bill, wasn't it you who brought back that chant from Korea? I just kept remembering when we started the chant! OMG! This is so great!
I was standing a couple of rows behind the band during the game. It was awesome when they came over to us at the end of the game and joined in the chanting. It's great to see that on the video, it brought it all back. Awesome.
This is awesome stuff. The DVD may take the "behind the scenes" angle instead of the full playoff game catalog some people were hoping for. To put the games on there, you need to get the rights, etc. It's a lot more complicated and expensive. I'd love to have some of the games on there, highlights at the very least. But it may not happen. I'd still buy a "behind the scenes" type of production in a heartbeat though.
Hello??! No goals?? It's great to see the home video, but c'mon. Are they joking? Or is this not a true clip?
I don't think that's from the actual DVD. I think that's just some footage that they're working with.
Like someone said somewhere on these boards, in order to get the games, they need to get rights to make copies for sale. So they most likely are not able to show actual game footage except what you see on that "home" video thing. Hopefully once they work it all out they will actually show the goals they talk about and what not.
Clip Fun video clip. Cheers for the link, would have probably missed it otherwise. You can't help but expect to actually see the first goal, surely the peak atmospheric experience of the game for a number of reasons, with the commentator's build up. Still, some good long range shots of the San Jose contingent of fans. Brought back memories of an excellent day out. Nice to hear we have chanting players as well as fans! On an aside, I wonder if any obsessive LA fans will snap up any of those newly built condos across Victoria Street, some of which must provide views of the stadium? Nice easy walk, too. Oh oh oh oh San Jose, oh oh oh oh San Jose.........
I can't imagine a team winning the MLS Cup and producing and end of the season DVD without the goals and game footage. That would be outrageous. And I highly doubt, in the year 2003, that a team like the Galaxy (for example) would produce such a cheap product. After a literally amazing, dramatic season, you'd think MLS would want the Quakes to sell a quality highlight DVD to us fans, then put freebies in sponsors' hands, youth club directors' stockings and every 2004 media/press kit. They have work to do in this market, and yes that will mean spending something.
Yeah that chant from the players almost brought tears to my eyes too. It definitely was a great import from Korea. I feel so happy for the players. They seem so happy and they deserve it. I know this sounds selfish, but I think I was more happy for myself back in 2001. After supporting a crappy team for years prior to Yallop, I felt as though I deserved to be happy although all I've done is to support the team. This year was totally different. The first thing that came to my mind as I saw the team celebrate on the field at HDC was that this group of guys really deserve this one, and I'm lucky enough to be their fan...
The DVD will include goal highlights as well as behind the scenes footage. View more "Behind The Shield: Quakes 2003 MLS Cup Video Diary at http://www.sjearthquakes.com/fan_pages/playoff_multimedia.htm
Dvd SO many things going on with our Quakes these days. This might not be so important to some of you, but where in the hell is the DVD? I e-mailed the Quakes shop on January 5th. Today, the 16th, I got the following response "...if and when the DVD is made all customers will be notified via e-mail"... The best run of playoffs, most of us will ever see. A hell of a 2003 season, and of course , the final. Earthquakes shop number is 1-866-777-0794. Try calling. Good luck.
