I would like to hear some soccer oriented music on the speakers, before and after the games at RFK. This should be turned off during the game so we can make our own noise. What would you like to hear? Here is my list to get things started.

Eat My Goal by Collapsed Lung,

Always Look on the Bright Side by Monty Python,

If the Kids Are United by Sham69,

Carnaval De Paris by Dario G, and

    Tubthumping by Chumbawamba.

We also need some Brazilian stuff, some African stuff, some Latin stuff and some Lee Greenwood. Obviously these days, NOT We Are the Champions.

Non-stop Andrew WK. And it should be loud enough to damage the hearing of all in attendance.

I want to hear the entire stadium singing soccer chants / songs in unison. Screw canned music. It sucks.

Another in agreement. If I want to hear all music all the time at a sports event I'll go to a hockey or basketball game.

None, zero, zip, nil, bupkus canned muzak at RFK or any other SSS. Go to Crew stadium and try not to be annoyed at the muzak and comercials that are deafeningly broadcast during play and see whether you want that at DC matches.

Thank the Maker that Zack and co., and KP of AEG do not want canned muzak or annoying PA during play.

The music I want to hear are quiet side fans singing and cheering. And I'd like to turn up the volume in the Barra and Nest.

How about micraphones by the supporter groups. Each supporter group could get the whole PA for 10 mins.

Maybe the lyrics of the songs could be shown on the Big Screen ... so the whole stadium can sing along...

-By the way are there any CDs w/DCU songs on them? Just wondering-

Then crank em' to 11. Volume that is.

Read the post folks, hiles is not calling for canned music. I think we can all agree that no music should be played over the speakers during the game.

As for before the game I vote for some Pogues and Dropkick Murphys.

No one is talking about music during the 90 minutes of action (I hope). I think the music they played last year on the way out was good, alot of heavier hard rock and a bit of techno-rock. I even heard some NIN which sounds cool in the stadium. I'm more for good hard rock than anything latin and especially lee greenwood (I hope you were joking, yuck).
Hard rock makes adreniline flow, excites the crowd and makes them more likely to scream and yell for the next 90 minutes, and it's great to walk out to after a thrashing of the Metros or LA :)
Just keep it to pre- and post-game and halftime.
Even though they would have to pay Merv Griffin (or is it his son), I think every time an opposing player lays on the pitch for an extended period, they should (loudly) play the Jeapordy theme over and over. Or use the jumbotron to get the crowd to help us with "Bring out yer Dead"!

    NO music at all.

Also did anyone else notice those huge banner flags that they started using at the end of the season that said GOAL, they'd run up and down the sideline with them after every DCU goal, not that we really scored alot :(

Anyway, I think everyone realizes that we scored, we don't need no stinkin giant flags.

I would also like there to be no music before or after the game. I just don't like piped in music.

Music before the game, music at halftime, music after the game -- no problem. Theoretically.

But the sound system at RFK is such utter crap that they might as well just pipe in the sounds of monkeys being ritualistically tortured.

I disagree. We shouldn't put canned music while the game is played (WTF are we, the WUSA????) but I am sure the guys would appreciate pre-game warmup music. Like just about anything from AC/DC. (give me Big Balls!)

Thing is, we've been in the league eight years and there is a significant portion of the crowd Who Doesn't Sing. And I think they are proud of it. They would rather watch us sing than actually do it.

That being said, give me my La Norte tix for the ABC opener next spring! WOO-HOO! Freddy walks on water! Freddy heals children! Freddy exhumes evil spirits from Newt Gingrich! Freddy gives Jennifer Aniston larger breasts! Freddy gives me Veronica Paysee naked in my bed!

If you must, play Rage or DKM softly, right when the gates open. A half- hour before kickoff, turn it off.

The loud canned music is generally annoying. I like watching warmups in quiet, so I can hear the players and the sound of athletes.
