Just everyone remember, that we can always trade an allocation within the league. It amazes me, that after the Bonseu move, everyone is wondering what SI we need to cut so that we can use our allocation on two foreigners. Bartholomeu is a good MLS player and cheap. He's speedy and adds nice versatility, playing along the left mid or backline. I think he should stay.

I think Gueverra stays too, unless we get an offer we can't refuse.

Which leads me to think that we use an allocation on a player like Nunez to partner up top with Magee.

Then we trade the allocation to Chicago for Armas. We would still have some more cap room. We can look to move one of our guys (Ziadie, a low cap player) to a team like LA who needs to bail on a few players for Simon Elliott. That could be an interesting midfield with Clark, Elliott, Armas, Gaven and Gueverra, a backline of Bonseu, Pope and Bartholomeu and Magee and Nunez up top.

Why do I think that Mike Magee is a clone of Gio Savarese?

Why does Chicago need an allocation? And what allocation is possibly worth Chris Armas?

Wilt gave up Nowak in order to keep Armas, what makes you think he'll give him up now?

    Wouldn't that make 5 SI's?

I don't think we are going to wind up with Armas. But I know Fire fans are stupid.

Gotta agree with keeping Edgar...he's the raw skillfull player we needed on left since Chung departed.

Edgar has had his moments but to be fair to the kid, he needs a full season and some constant time on the pitch. Say what you want about his crosses..he'll fix that in no time. He has speed, finess, and a crafty mind... his domination of the left side in Foxboro in Timmy's last game should of cemented his spot on the first time...instead that heatstroke game against Kansas killed him off..Edgar looked ineffective against the Wiz and then next week his gas was simply on empty.. it seemed to me that it took almost a month for him to recover from that game..also keep in mind he only just joined us before that Wiz match and he wasn't 100% match fit apron joining us.

We're crazy to let him go.

I have to say this. Bradley has A LOT of work to do on the team. If we go with a 3-5-2, I guess Edgar would be fun out left. That would mean we would need a dynamic 5th midfielder to pair with Gaven, Gueverra, Clark, and Edgar. He needs to be in the center, and have a Reyna like role on the team. Covering up gaps in the midfield, playing the smart one time ball into space etc.

In the back, we need two more defenders. One has to be a bonafide starter (CJ Brown???). The second has to be a great sub (Pope will miss 12 games, I assume the others will be injured as well). Is that player Suarez? (lisi or ziade for him is a fair deal)

Finally, we need two forwards up top. Magee is a great third player, but he cannot start right now (his finishing skills are subpar). To me that means the Howard allocation on a bonafide player up top. Who that is I have no clue. Also a complimentary player. It seems to me like we are going to stay with Gaven and Edgar on the far wings. This means that there will be no crossing into the box (unless Digi picks up his game). A forward like Juskowiak would not be good then. We need a speed demon who can capitalize on Gueverra's inside passing game, and another guy who can run at defenders.

Armas will not come to the Metros

am i the only one that thinks Magee is not good enough to start? He is clearly not yet a dangerous player. He cant create his own chances and only seems to score garbage goals. Our defense is fine. We need two good strikers up front who can hold the ball, create chances, and finish goals. A good striker can take advantage of a half-chance, you dont have that in Magee. We shouldnt be basing our offense around this kid.

Good enough to start next year? We shall see about that. But I saw him as clearly 'dangerous', if not a deadly finisher, almost every time he came on the field for us. By the second half of the season, I definitely felt Magee was more active and a better bet to score than Clint, when he was on the field (mostly in a sub role).

I think Magee's clearly a Twellman-type forward in embryo, and I'm not at all unhappy with that (or with him). By not 'creating his own chances' and only scoring 'garbage goals' (while Twellman isn't quite that simple a player, he's not that far off, either), Magee almost knocked in the 10 Jeff Bradley predicted - and I'll predict that if he's healthy and continues his current trajectory (starting or getting decent time in 3/4 of our games), he'll hang 11 or 12 goals on there next season.

He's 19 years old. Be patient.

patience, thank god there are others aware the word even exists anymore...as for Edgar, hes the poor man's beasley in this league, and when he doesnt have to worry as much about defense, he showed he could be dangerous out on that wing...true wingers are rare in this league, id like him a lot more if he wasnt an SI...if we kept him, it would leave us without anymore SI's, and i think most of us would like to see us import a nice foreign talent up top...also, i think by the end, bob didnt like him as much as some of us did, but who knows..

Somehow tomake Edgar be viable he has to get his Green card. That should be the Metros first priority this off-season. If not, I could do without Edgar and I am sure a lot of other teams would not exactly be knocking down the door to get him if he eats up one of those SI slots.
