i'm trying to find someone to play with on this side of town. i just noticed a soccer field right behind the Pedigo on w. 38th. I'm pretty nervous and scared to go around and ask people, so i was hoping someone from the board was in the area who knew someone.
ouch, W38?? not the nicest area currently on W46 and Highschool'ish. though i know no one on this side, simply b/c im from the east side. I typically play on the NE side of Indy, though ive havent played for some time now. Aim to play Futsal on the East side this winter though, just gotta get back into shape
i was looking into playing indoor at indy indoor sports on w34 (?) and high school, but the place/area looked shady as balls. i don't drive either, and i haven't played in about a year, so i'm itching to get back into it.
theres a place on w86th that i played once (co-ed game). area was fine, but dont recall the name as far as i know, Sports of All Sorts on the east side is the only place with Futsal Off-The-Wall in Carmel is a nice complex with good competition i would suggest picking a place like one of the above and learning the bus routes to those places

It's not being shown anywhere in Indiana-- http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2009/10/where-to-watch-usahonduras-on-tv.html
Yes, they are definitely showing it. Here's the Facebook notice about the game: http://www.facebook.com/people/Chatham-Tap/1566413822#/event.php?eid=145832294723&ref=mf There will be a cover charge due to the pay-per-view fee that the Tap will have to pay. They're saying that the cover will be no more than $10.
i was going to leave at 8:30 to get there over an hour before the game, but b/c of an indecisive friend, we didnt leave until 9. got there and it was packed, line out the door. But then an employee said we could sit on the patio out back and watch through the windows, at which point i squeezed my way into the bar and stood with my g/f and another friend next to the bathroom where two stools were. Froze my butt off b/c the door to the outside was open and i didnt bring a jacket worth it
Well worth it. I was late arriving and watched the first half through the front window. Then the employee came to collect our cover, and told us about the back door/patio. Watched the second a few feet away from Otergod.
You need to arrive at least an hour early for most important U.S. games at the Tap. Went there for the USA/Brazil match during the Confed Cup and the place was full 45 minutes before kick-off.
i was going to sit on the patio, but the only available chair at the time was right in front of the brick wall between the two windows and i had 2 others with me.... but hey i ordered a large Rancher pizza and i was given a small by mistake, they went down and order us another free of charge and we ate the small and took the large home with us
I was standing against the wall between the restroom and the bar. The only bummer of the night was that the place was too crowded for me to get anything to eat or drink. The game/atmosphere was so intense that I didn't care.
the guy with the giant mohawk was our waiter, you simply needed to wave him down as he passed by you..
I could hardly raise my hand. Talk about a mohawk. I am 6'5" he was about 5'8", everytime he walked in front of me he blocked my view.
CNN's Good Morning America just announced Indianapolis as a potential city for the USA's 2018/2022 World Cup bid! I have no idea if this will work out or not, I regret to say there are probably several cities more interested than us, but that'd be great.
That would be awesome. I don't think that it would matter much on how much the city has an interest in soccer, the city has an interest in $$$ and will put on a good show. Local fans, well they will pop their heads out of the soccer mom world. I think Indy, if US wins a bid will be a host.
