Not sure why there's no thread for this yet. Not too many RFK tailgates left in 2009, so better make this count. Anyway.... In.
I'll be there with my standard case of Miller on ice, ready to help clean up Hell's Kitchen and any other tasks which need performing.
Last game of the season for us, so we'll be there. Not sure what we'll bring. Probably a vat of guacamole and something else TBD.
I'll be getting there a little late due to the Michigan v Michigan State game. I'll call to see if there are any last minute supplies you guys need.
fighting early stages of bronchitis. If it's a dry day, I'll be there and hopefully available for HK; if wet, I'm a no-show.
Hmm, I'm not seeing any tickets for this match for sale on the Barra website? Did our sections sell out or something?
Started marinating a couple pounds of chicken this morning.. gotta pick up a new bottle of jack tomorrow and i'll be all set
I'm certainly not going to be square... I'll be there. I'm not sure what I'll bring, but I'll bring something. I would love to do the Puerco Pibil again, but it's so darned expensive to make. Gotta check the budget. Somebody let me know if we need any flatware, plates, etc.
I'll be there, and coming from another event again, so trying to figure out something that can sit in the car besides chips. Next time, I hope to make rice and have it warm, so I'll need a good rice cooker recipe if anyone can PM me one!
Pops is bringin' the machine. Got plenty of ice left over from the last two matches. VAMOS UNITED!!!!
I am hoping that there will be jambalaya. Def a recommend, just ask Natty and myself. They usually park behind HK.
Would like to thank Hell's Kitchen for some wonderful cooking. Also, many others at the tailgate provided fine food & beverages today. Thank you. It really was a great day at the tailgate and the weather was wonderful. On the downside there's the game.... another must-win game that we failed to show up for. And lets just say I'm less than happy w/the DC Police tonight @ RFK. They really dropped the ball, trusting one particular liar instead of multiple eyewitnesses. I wish I could've done more immediately, but it's probably something that'll drag on now and I'll have to discuss later. Terrifying night. Look folks.... if you're in the front four or so rows (at minimum) and you're not cheering, clapping, stomping, jumping or attempting to make some sort of noise, expect someone to talk to you about it. There's plenty of seats on the far side of the stadium where you can have pictures with your friends and upload them to the internet during the game and you can hang around and chat with a beer for 90 mins. If you're in the Barra sections... as it's been put so many times before... sing or leave. Your silence will not be tolerated. Thank you again to the drummers & folks who led the cheers this evening.
You're full of it. If you had any evidence to the contrary you would have come forward for your friend. You're pissed off because he stepped out of line and and posting stuff here since you have nothing. <edit> not a single person came forward to dispute the incident to the police. Not 1 <edit> Second of all, if the person is standing the Barra, they are already contributing more to the atmosphere that 20,000 other people at the game so perhaps looks at the big picture? They could not be at the game at all, contributing nothing. Instead they are trying to absorb the true fan's passion for the game by being in the middle of it and they get yelled at. What sort of example are you setting for children learning the game and watching those crazy fans jump up and down. The game was long since lost when the "not singing, taking photos took place" just because you're pissed at a poor performance by the team and disrespectful Barra chants doesn't mean you get to verbally and physically assault women without consequence. Yes, i was friends with the person who pressed charges, yes i know that it was out of character for the gentleman who was arrested to do what i heard he did. But my guest is a grown woman who can make her own decisions, and i can't influence them. I was disgusted at the reaction from the Barra, and i think the negative atmosphere that led to the incident was incited by the Barra and their consistent negative attitude (ignoring it = heres looking at your facepainters) to disrespectful behavior.
Although I would have plenty to say, I will not comment on the rest of your post . But this one I can't let slide. The specific statement I quoted is BULLSHIT! Plain and simple. It's the Barra and not the zoo where you go to admire the wild animals. Sing or get the ******** out is not just a slogan. I do realize that the Barra is not for everybody, and that is why there are another 50,000 seats for you and your friend in the stadium.
