Guys, Benayoun will be available for this game. He didn't travel with the team to fly to Israel and fast for the (important Jewish) holiday and flew to Italy later.

Not sure about Masch, some say he's injured, some say he's sick.

in a team with so many hispanohablantes, this would normally mean "beach"

Welcome. Saw the highlights against Livorno and, you still scored against awkward opponents. I always each game is different, especially when these games are in the league and at in Europe.

Good luck against the other teams but not us ;)

Man, I hope so. Normally we only pound Torino like that.

    LOL.

I see a 1-0 either way or a 1-1. A point out of this match and I'm happy.

Question- I've found conflicting reports and wondered if anyone knew for sure - will a bar that has the DirectTV Champs League package be showing the LIverpool game if they don't have Setanta?

The Direct TV site indicates that its only on Setanta on their schedule of matches, but I saw a post on this site that claimed to be from Direct TV where it said the Liverpool game would be "mirrored" onto a free DirecTV channel as well as on Setanta.

    Any ideas?

I've always heard that Direct TV has all of the matches, in fact I have it at home and their on-screen listing had this match being shown live on their "mirroring" channels." So, my guess is that it will be carried live in your pub.

Thanks, bro. Just spent 10 minutes with a customer service representative who told me about 4 conflicting things. lol. I was more confused after the call than I was when before it. :D

    No problem.

It can be pretty frustrating trying to figure this stuff out with these big companies (cable, satellite, cell phone, banks, etc.). Even their reps are confused - as you found out.

Why not find a pub with Setanta? You are in Chicago right? I'm fairly sure they have it at the Globe. Remember they don't need the PPV package of Old Firm matches, just the regular Setanta home service. I am DVRing it to watch this evening

I hit the Globe usually as part of the Chicago Liverpool supporters club, but I work out west near Oak Park. Luckily a coupla bars here have DirectTV, but not one around here carries Setanta.

I'm DVRg it but i'll be working late regardless and don't have the patience or discipline to wait to see it at night! lol.

Saying that any team on the planet might beat us by 4 goals, in our house, is cheeky.

    RAFA MIXES IT UP:

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Insua, Carragher, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard, Benayoun, Aurelio, Kuyt, Torres.

Subs: Cavalieri, Voronin, Riera, Kyrgiakos, Babel, Spearing, Plessis.

    -------Reina-------

    Johnson--Carra--Skrtel--Insua

    -----Lucas Aurelio------

    ----Kuyt Gerrard Yossi----

    -------Torres---------

By leaving Riera, Voronin and Babel on the bench I guess it gives him some offense if needed.

This is the usual away formula for Rafa, as Gerrard can still attack, leaving Aurelio and Lucas to sit a bit deeper spraying passes around and breaking down opposition attacks.

Our first "big" CL match of the season. Fiorentina should not be underestimated.

    I agree.

Wow, your stadium is really 'shallow', kinda surprising in shape

I also dug the polka(?) sounding song at the beginning, hah

Oh, its going to be one of those games. Torres jumps up, puts a bit of an arm on his marker, but its called a foul for holding.
    6'

    Good ball by aurelio, though
