there is 4 or 5 different reports about his retirement, also if he went to mls that would be an embarrasing way to end his career if he goes to qatar which he rejected he wouldve gotten $2 million now why would he go to mls for maybe $200,000 hes done done
can't necessarily put a pricetag on quality of life though...maybe he wants the 'american' experience, whatever that means, so maybe he's willing to accept less money to be somewhere he's always wanted to visit or live in the short term...

While I agree with you that there are beautiful places in Spain and the rest of the world, there are likewise places in the US that are more beautiful than in Europe. No country is "better" than another, as each offers a different selection of things to see. As for MLS being a "joke," this "joke" of a league developed the starting goalkeeper for one of your favorite teams. But, seeing the other teams you support, I'm not surprised you didn't notice.
I like visiting Europe as much as the next guy. I've traveled to Spain and had a wonderful visit. But why is it that there are so many ignorant Europeans whose only retort is to accuse Americans of being stupid people who don't travel? Newsflash to you ....... many of us do in fact travel. You know why? Because we have more money than anyone else in the world TO travel. Back to the original topic, I don't think MLS (or at least the Metros) should persue him. His best days are past. After he left Real Madrid he joined Fiorentina, and became a major disappointment there. They eventually let him go for nothing (cuz they tried to sell him but nobody was interested). Not the type of player we want to bring to the Metros.
I dont want him. I say we put a cap of 32 years old on importing foreign players. (Sorry David Beckham, Sorry Sol Cambell) I don't want this league to be a place where washed up old superstars can play their retirement soccer anymore.
I agree with what you're getting at..however if the guy is comming to play then age should be of no factor. If age is a knock then we simply are a weak ten team league since our number one player,2003MVP, is none other then 40 plus Preki. The whole age debate could go on forever but I think we can all agree if any player wants to come here and play legitimate first team football and also help nurture our younger players, Magee, etc... then I say welcome aboard.
Preki earned his place. These guys come in demanding high wages and time and time again don't really produce anything. Let them all go to Quatar for all I care. The oil money is better than whatever MLS has.
hey thanks to the mls tim howard has been great for manu no doubt about it but he does have decent defenders infront of him but look at your boys friedel and keller-can you say disapointing this season then you got your mls heroes clint mathis who got rejected by rangers and leicester city and ruiz also rejected by leicester city and those 2 clubs arent the cream of europe either so what do you guys have to say about that? and about the mls when i see a soccer stadium with football lines over it well no need to say anything about that
