EVERY time I look @ the fantastic stadium construction pix, I can't help but recall that those MAGNIFICENT bridge arches were NOT incorporated into our Union logo! What were those moronic graphic designers (not) thinking?!?
Because, five years from now after years of sell out crowds, the team will be building a new 40,000 seat SSS in the heart of Philadelphia. The Chester stadium will continue to a core piece of the renaissance of Chester hosting a USL team and Lacrosse team. All is good.
Nothing to rush home to after my jaunt to Wilmington tomorrow afternoon, so I will be stopping by Seaport Drive and FINALLY (I hope) get to see the mecca for Delaware Valley soccer fans up close and personal in all its glory. Hot damn!
I stopped by this afternoon on a whim while in north Wilmington; lookin' good! Masonry/brick work progressing nicely on the River End.
You can kiss my ass. And you can kiss Seth's ass. I have been to the holy land, and all is wondrous and amazing. Will share my pics tonight or tomorrow, with some very insightful insight from an architectural point of view.
Oh it happened ... you can file these under, "Suck it, Trebek!" More later. (EDIT, like 33 more pictures)
Awesome pictures. The bridge is so close! It's a shame they didn't incorporate it into the crest. Nice job Dills. I was betting against you.
I would rep you but it seems I am all out. And not only is the picture great, but you managed an excellent SNL line! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STAk6sPjEbw"]YouTube - TREBEK VS CONERY[/ame]
I'd love to see a new aerial photo like the one Bryan found at an earlier stage. I bet you could really see things taking shape from that vantage point.
All they'd need is something higher than the stadium to allow for a great overall view, like a bridge or an old power plant converted into office space ... something.
