The commentators for this game sound colombian though.. They praised that Moreno kid a lot and called jeff montero, freddy montero several times.

Early as He11 to throw predictions, but I can already imagine a tough @$$ game, I hope the crowd, and the stadium gives our players the extra push, I was watching the Uruguay vs Colombia match, and I really don't know wether we should go with height and strenght (Tenorio and Caicedo) or short and quick (Benitez and Montero) one thing I noticed is that they run A LOT! hopefully Quito will draw them out sooner than usual. Once again I'll mention that is our mids that must create and lead our offense. we have been complaining here that our forwards don't seem to put it in (unless if it's with his SS Benitez XD)I'm ok with that, If I'm seeing Mendez, Ayovi, Valencia taking outside shots (specially in Quito)Noboa penetrating, wall passes. Now our defense worries me a lot, what do you guys think about Ambrossi starting and preventing El Cebolla Rodrigues cross passes? should Mina comeback? Campos? I really liked Fleitas against Bolivia.

Tenorio already achieved hero status in my book, but I can't possibly count on him anymore. Way too inconsistent and way too injury prone.

Benitez and Montero, definitely. I'm just wondering whether or not we should keep giving Felipe Caicedo more chances.

i think he should get back into shape first, and then i would put him on as a sub in the second half at least, but for the love of GOD I pray that vizuete doesnt call-up pablo palacios!!he doesnt convince me,he never will, and i hope marcelo elizaga plays as a starter because he's way better than cevallos, cevallos is too ********ing slow at retreiving the ball, and he's scared of getting off his line!! Good thing elizaga hasnt been booked but hopefully he doesnt pull off anything stupid, and get booked for the match against chile!

i dont know see the problem is that they don't have much experience on the national team, I think vizuete should have given these guys more chances to start during these qualifiers, instead of useless aged defenders such as carlos castro and omar de jesus,Vizuete should have at least given campos and calderon some more call ups for the home games, thats his problem sometimes he doesn't know who to call-up sometimes,I wish we could tell him not to call up useless guys such as omar de jesus or carlos castro or mamita calderon to the seleccion anymore!!

Unlike most of us, I can live with Sombra and Hurtado in the center, It's the flanks that worry me, I still consider Ivan and Sombra a good team they know each other well, solid bodies, excellent headers and eventhough they get tired at the end well.... Isn't that what subs are for? Uruguay has scored a ton of goals with headers, Forlan is awesome about that, I guess Ayovi can always cover the Left flank but he is too offense oriented and he tends to leave the back open quite often. Segundo Castillo is going to have a tough game, I hope he starts getting playing time in his team so he comes here in good shape.

Are you suggesting we sub out centerbacks in what is usually the climax of a game? Last 20 minutes?!

Anybody know the status of Carlos Tenorio? How long will he be out?

Unfortunately we don't have anybody else in that position. Caicedo is not ready for such a big game.

No, but if we are winning why not Bring Guagua in also, and set up a line of centrales?

Well that sounds a lot different than what you had posted prior to this. Although this wouldn't be a bad idea I think adding another defender to the back line requires adjusting, understanding and communication by all of them. Unless vizuete practices this with the team before the match I doubt he will do it.

I believe I have it listed as 11am on October 10. However...that seems early. Either way you know ALL of Ecudador will be shut down during this game. The country will be watching intently.

    GO ECUA!

If Ecuador wins and all the results favor us, we should be in 2010, though alot of games killed us, especially dropping 6 points against Venezuela. Ecuador under Vizuete did make a very impressive come back.
