Foster -7 Helpless on the Defoe goal, sensational save of the Jenas shot.
O'Shea- 7 Stuck to his task well, didn't really mess up.
Rio - 7 Looked rusty but that's to be expected. Still brings an aura of calm to the team.
Vidic - 6 Wasn't sure how to handle Crouch all game, but redeemed himself a bit in the second half.
Evra- 8 Brilliant. Kept Lennon quiet as a church mouse.
Fletcher - 8 Continues his brilliant early season form. Was everywhere, challenging for every ball, had a good chance to score...just a great performance overall.
Scholes - 7 Kept play ticking over well. Can't help himself with those bad tackles.
Anderson - 8 Was his typical 'strong on the ball' self, passed well(he always does well in CM when he's partnered with Scholes) and took his goal really well. :D
Giggs -8 Took his freekick well, was a constant thorn in Spurs' side.
Berbatov- 7 Was his usual tricky self, really should've scored but a good performance overall.
    Rooney - 9 Genius. Seriously.
Nani- 7 Not enough time to influence things, but kept possession well and was his usual tricky self.
Carrick- 6 Looks deflated mentally. He needs some help from someone, I don't know who.

Foster - 7, wasn't required to do much, but held a cross and made a brilliant save
O'Shea - 6, kept Keane quiet, was solid
Ferdinand - 7.5, very calm on the ball, helped us keep possession with cool play
Vidic - 3, just a crap display, got better near the end
Evra - 8.5, Aaron who? fantastic defensively and a potent attacker down the left
Fletcher - 8.5, everything but score for Roy Fletcher
Scholes - 4, got sent off
Anderson - 8, showed for the ball, did some creative things and SCORED
Giggs - 7.5, started slowly but picked things up, scored a peach of a FK
Berbatov - 6, should have scored one of his chances
Rooney - 8.5, really quite good work rate and kept his poise to score

Carrick - 6, shielded back four well, made a couple runs
Nani - 6, designated time waster, did ok, was responsible defensively as well

Foster-7: One outstanding save at 1-2; kicking was very competent and he seems much more steady with a continuous run of games.

O'Shea-6.5: Dealt with most things competently

Ferdinand-7: Improved as the game progressed, as expected.

Vidic-6: Nightmare first half; good second half

Evra-8.5: Was content in keeping Lennon quiet first half; second half especially after we were down 10 men; kept on destroying Spurs down that flank.

Fletcher-9: MOM. Was unstoppable the last 30 minutes or so. Great vision for the all-important Rooney goal. His shots were bang on target as well, making Cudicini make very good saves on 2 occasions.

Scholes-7: Very good first half. Unnecessarily got himself sent off. Huddlestone is a cheat though.

Anderson-7.5: He scored. Showed great vision and tenacity at times.

Giggs-7.5: Great first goal to bring us back in the match; was very good after we were down to 10 men with none of the unnecessary flicks etc.

Berbatov-6.5: Was sometimes unplayable when dropping deep and playing through the centre. Point deducted for not finishing @ 1-1 despite 2 gos.

Rooney-8: Great game. Point deducted for all those offsides; one of them was ridiculously unfair but he did miss on that occasion.

By your standards you should have deducted points from Fletcher for not scoring at those two attempts.

Fletcher is not in the team to score goals though of course, he has to support in attack(which he did) and finish if the opportunity arises.

As it is, neither of those 2 chances was straightforward. In fact, in both cases, Fletcher did very well to make Cudicini work.

Foster- 7 Cant blame him for the goal imo, very good save.
O'Shea- 6.5 Solid, Spurs didnt really attack him.
Rio- 7 A sharper Rio would have gotten to the ball before Defoe IMO.
Vidic- 7 Dominated aerially, fouls alot.
Evra 7.5 He is out of his Lennon phobia which is encouraging.
Scholes 7 Did it really deserved a 2nd yellow ? What has happened to his shooting radar, probably 2nd or third time this season, Scholes breaking from midfield having an open target and the ball goes miles wide.
Fletch- 7.5 Energy commitement, did very well on the right side, the side he was dumped on when he started his career in the first team.
Anderson 7 Good passing, movement, goal on top of it.
Giggs- 7 Beautiful goal, helped Evra in shackling Lennon.
Berbatov 7- For me he was MOM of the first half, made a mockery of Palacios, Spurs couldnt handle his movement.
Rooney-7 Not that involved in the first half, improved when we were down to 10, probably because he became the outlet rather than everyone passing it to Berba to playmake.
Carrick- Ok 5, one surging run was good to see, still alot of indecision.
    Nani-NA.

    Foster - 7 - top class save
    O'Shea - 6
Ferdinand - 6 - off the pace a bit, few poor passes. To be expected and great to have him and get some PT before the derby
Vidic - 5 - poor first half. Lucky not to be sent off in second with us already a man down
    Evra - 7
    Fletcher - 7
Scholes - 6 - sent off. Was at usual very high standard prior to sending off.
Anderson- 7 - so happy for the boy. Hopefully this marks the beginning of a step up from him.
Giggs - 7 - great fk. Also ran very well for the full 90
    Berbatov- 7
Rooney - 8 - it is great to see him take on defenders successfully at the right time. Rest of his game was on today as well.
Carrick - 6 - good for him to get some PT without too much pressure. Hopefully can play his way into some formNani - 6

Foster 7 - he needs games like this where he can see his worth to the team and grow in stature.
    O'Shea 7
    Ferdinand 7
    Vidic 7 - first half was a 5, second was a high 8
    Evra 8
    Fletcher 8.5
    Scholes 4
    Anderson 8
    Giggs 7
    Berbatov 7
    Rooney 8.5
    Carrick 6
    Nani not rated.

Our best performance of the season so far - our midfield seemed to work very well indeed, which is encouraging. Would like a look at one of those chalkboard type things to see how our midfield was shaped over the course of the match. Let's hope Ando keeps up this turnaround in form without Scholes beside him...

Foster - 7: A couple of key saves, solid throughout.
    O'Shea - 6.
    Ferdinand - 6.
    Vidic - 6. First half a '4', second - '8', so the average is 6.
Evra - 8. MOTM - excellent on all fronts.
    Fletcher - 7.
Scholes - 6. Good game for the first 50 minutes. Then a horrible sequence.
    Anderson - 7. It's about time.
Giggs - 7. Best winger on the field.
    Berbatov - 6. You can't miss sitters.
    Rooney - 7. On a roll.
    Carrick - 6.

    Become the Tea Pot!!
Foster - 7 - Some key saves that gave us the platform to go and play as we did.

    O'Shea - 6 - O'Shea.

Ferdinand - 6 - Showed no balls at all on Lennon's overhead kick - could've blocked that, nay, would've blocked that if it was a CL final or WC SF/Final. Had a better overall time of it than Vidic, though.

Vidic - 5.5 - One of his worst halfs in the shirt in the first 45. Redeemed himself in the 2nd, but Spurs' demoralisation by that point played a bigger hand than Vidic himself in that redemption. Lucky not to get sent off on at least two occasions.

Evra - 8 - Is this form, or Evra's level for the season? End product away from being an exceptional LB.

Fletcher - 8 - MoM. - When a player turns into what Fletcher seemingly is becoming, they are a problem for the opposition and the oppo don't want any of them, to the point where they'll avoid that player's area of the pitch whenever or however they can. The biggest compliment for Fletch in this game is that Spurs' men panicked whenever he was in their vicinity and even that didn't stop him. Played a huge hand in us demoralising the oppo and then taking over this game. Impressive shots as well.

Scholes - ? 7 - Was MoM until he did what he seems to always do these days. Huddlestone cheated, for sure, but Scholes is like a primed nuke and was probably going to go off (figuratively and literally) at some point in the game with the way he was 'tackling' It's quite tedious by now given he is our best user of the ball by an absolute mile and that we actually need him to stay on the pitch.. He would've been my MoM if he'd completed the 90 with a 8 or 9 mark, but, well, yea.. Scholes.

Anderson - 7 - Looked the part yesterday. Scored a well taken goal as well.

Giggs - 7.5 - Shame it takes 2 weeks of prep for Giggsy to be able to play the wing like that - if he could recuperate and play there like that every game, he'd still be our starting LW. Alas, age gets to us all in the end, but Giggs is better equipped to handle it than any other older-timer I've seen in English top-flight football, bar Sheringham.

Berbatov - 7 - Berba-#10. Spurs simply had no idea how to deal with his dropping off and probing. Some fantastic stuff from him, but really needs to be burying some of those chances.

Rooney - 8 - Everyone seems to be raving about Wayne - not me. This is a mere base level for him. He is so much more than we're seeing him utilized as; but still, he is doing the conventional job he's being asked to do with a very impressive level of studiousness and patience. I would like to see far more of Rooney than we're seeing - having him wait for others to make plays the majority of the time is a bit of a waste, imo. Again, still, he would easily be top 3 for this game along with Fletcher and Evra as he did the job asked of him impressively and was even better when we went down to 10 men. Wonderfully taken goal also.

Carrick - 5.5 - The huge dip in passing quality between Carrick and the departing Scholes was evident, although that's not entirely fair as Carrick went into the game cold and with us down to ten. His lack of understanding of when to and when not to pass dangerously is perhaps his worse attribute considering he is a DLP by nature. Did alright on the defensive end.

Nani - N/A - Couldn't get into the game in the little time he had to impact it.

I am starting to think Scholes shouldnt play more than 45minutes these days. For the 5minutes prior to his sending off, I was fearing it as he frequently charged towards the ball and it was no surprise when he eventually got sent off. If I was an opposition manager I would set out to get Scholes sent off. It is such ashame because I thought he was immense in the first half.

As for Fletcher, his improvement on the defensive side has been astounding, which is fantastic as his the only player who can perform that role with Hargreeeves injured... I wonder how different the CL final would of been had he played. However Im still often watching him, wishing his forward passing/technical abilities were just a few notches better.

As for Rooney, he seems to enjoy being the centre of this side (well at least when things are rosey), and I prey he stays fit for the season.

    O'Shea 7
    Ferdinand 6
Vidic 5 -- weak link in the defense last night

    Fletcher 8

Best our midfield has played in a long time. Fergie lined up Fletcher similar to where he played him very successfully at liverpool 2 seasons back. Who needs a winger :) Best overall team performance since we played Inter away last season.

Foster 8 - at least 2 world class saves. looks like a totally different keeper from the first few matches.

    O'Shea 6 - put in a solid shift.

Ferdinand 7 - looked good for his first match back.

Vidic 6 - Crouch gave him some problems. Better in the second half.

Evra 8 - Kept Lennon in his pocket the entire match. another outstanding defensive performance. Best defender this season to date.

Fletcher 9 - MOM. He was tireless and brilliant. enough said

Scholes 7 - Played very well....poor tacking strikes again.

Anderson 8 - Best match he has played in over a year. And a Goal!

Giggs 7 - Great free kick. Good overall.

Berbatov 7 - Had some magic moments on the ball. should have scored.

Rooney 8 - Another briliant performance. Best all around striker in the Premiere League.. period.

Carrick 6 - Played well positionally, but really didn't contribute much on the ball. If Hargreaves gets fit (I know, HaHa) and Ando plays to his potential.. Carrick will find getting minutes very tough unless he steps up.

Nani 6 - Not enough time to judge.

Foster 7 - great save on Jenas
O'Shea 6 - solid, quietly he has become our #1 starter vs. decent oppo
Ferdinand 6 - welcome back, solid
Vidic 5 - had problem with Crouch at the start.
    Evra 8 - nullified Lennon
Fletcher 8 - glue of our midfield
Scholes 5 - why oh why... also, he really need his shoot boot back.
    Anderson 7 - finally scores.
    Giggs 7 - great FK.
Berbatov 6 - solid, need to score more.
Rooney 8 - awesome, need to keep him healthy all season long.
    Carrick 5 - did okay
Nani 5- although it's only a cameo, i thought he hold on the ball too long a few times.
