I'm going way, way out on a limb and predicting Brazil wins it.

Europe can't win outside of Europe.
    That leaves Brazil and Argentina.
Brazil has more talent anyway, but now Dunga has them organized.
It's going to be a boring tournament.

I am hoping for Argentina or Brazil to win and hopefully it will be the final. Europe doesn't win out of europe.

I think either Brazil or Italy will win it.

I know other teams are improving and could also win it like Spain, Argentina and England but I think Brazil and Italy will be contesting it in the final.

I hope England can win it but unfortunately I can't see it.

I think we need a much stronger squad.

Compared to other nations hoping of going far in tournaments, I think we have a decent squad. Certainly better than France, Germany and perhaps Italy..

Not too many teams can have players like Joe Cole, Hargreaves, Carrick sitting on the bench who have played in champions league finals.. and then we also have a few upcoming youngsters who look good so i don't think we need a much stronger squad.

Why would anyone wanna have Hargreaves and Carrick sitting on the bench? They'd never be called for Italy, Germany or France.

I'm going to have to say Spain or Brazil but a lot of teams are left out of this.. Korea in and Italy out? Switzerland in and Argentina out? Unless i missed them I feel if they have been struggling or not they are still top soccer countries and should be in.

Its going to be England! And yes! I have my blindly optimistic blinkers on! England are playing quite well at the moment, and the good news is, the weather in South Africa in the summer will be quite cool. Right up our street!

My heart says England. My head say England has a chance.

Of course, you have to throw Brazil in to the mix, Germany look reasonable, Spain have finally won something and got THAT monkey off their back.

However, the pool of traditional powerhouses at the WC is potentially going to be quite thin. France and Portugal are in REAL danger of not making it, Argentina have huge problems at the moment, and Italy is still good, but a rapidly ageing shadow of the team that won the thing last time.

So, the chances for the major nations to win could go up, but then, with the likes of Argentina, Portugal and France (potentially) not being there, I would not necessarily bet against someone new!

How are Germany at the moment? They've been pretty stunning over the past two tournaments, they're players just seem to grow a foot in that shirt.

The German national team players are just underrated, that's all.

Löw is a lot experimentin these times, searching the ebst formation and tactic, fit in a lot of young players. We have to wait how they play in Moscow vs Russia to see their capabilities.
All in all the team is stronger and more versatile than in '08 and they have a nice depth for a lot of positions. Imo they are a force to calculate with like in every tournament.

    Ghana, of course....

My head tells me Brazil or Spain will win. But I think this is a great opportunity for an underdog to win.

Right now I'd take any of those 3, but really it's a lottery. Qualifying is one thing but once you actually get to the tournament then, to use an old saying, "It's a whole different ball game." and anyone can step up to the plate. Just look at the last World Cup, France had a really poor qualification campaign and were in danger of going out in the group stages but then suddenly went on a good run and made it all the way to the final.

I think so too. The only team that stands our are Spain. If somehow Spain falter then it's wide open for a upset. Hell we might even see England or Holland win.

It's hard to look past Brazil at this stage.
