I thought you were a part of the 'Richard Dunne is the worst defender in England, opinions of those that actually watch him play regularly be damned' bandwagon?

    Ha!

Did you see Gary Breen on Sky, Billy? Talking about how he failed a medical at Inter, I could not focking believe it.

No-one has called him the worst defender in England. It is your claim that he is the best CB outside the top 4 which everyone finds hilarious; he is just your regular premiership hack in most people's opinion.

Actually, I said Hangeland & Jagielka were/are currently the best defenders outside the top four. What I said about Dunne is that he is one of the best CBs outside the top four and arguably the best non big-four over the span of the decade, after Mellberg. He has often been referred to as one of the worst defenders in the league and not of Prmeiership quality on here.

Re. Potter: Didn't see that! When was this, in Breen's teenage years or somesuch? Strangely enough he was actually quite highly touted in his younger days for whatever reason...

After the 2002 WC he said on Goals on Sunday. Inter and Barca were both interested.

BTW: up until very recently I'm with you regards to Dunne. City fans overrated him somewhat but he was excellent and consistent (which you want from a defender) for a long time. A fit Ledley King is the best outside the top 4 though.

Yeah, true... forgot about King (and Woodgate) although their injury problems do set them back a bit. Take the injruies away from them and they could have been perhaps the 4th and 5th best defenders in the Premiership this dsecade (behind Rio, Campbell & Carvalho). Yeah though, Dunne was crap for most of last season.

He is not the worst but he is certainly not amongst the best. I would imagine I could list 20 CBs who I would prefer above him and have played atleast a season in the top flight over the last 5 years.

He's now been released to play for the U21s on Tuesday. Think that's what google translator is trying to tell me, anyway.

Another story I ran through it from Dutch to English had the reason he's out of the senior squad as "promises".

Actually it was holytoledo...and I assume because of his love of the police, he's not black.;)

I still don't rate richard dunne. He's barely above the titus bramble, zat knight, liam ridgewell tier of defenders imo.

Antonio Valencia, did pretty well for Ecuador against Colombia, tough his side lost they deserved at least a tie.

His lack of confidence and control on his left foot might have cost them the game.

BBC Sport's Keir Murray at Hampden: "I can't help thinking that astonishing miss by Kenny Miller/great save by Michel Vorm will become a JFK moment in Scottish football history, as in 'Where were you when Miller missed that tap-in?'"

    ---

anyone see that save by Buffon some minutes back? awesome stuff.
