some of you guys don't know germany at all. many a team has gone home battered and bruised and losers after having assumed they could handle the germans. wake up guys, wake up!!

Germany isn't a "rival". They don't care about us. It's sort of like KC/LA in MLS. The two teams have matched up for some of the most incredible playoff series in league history, yet LA isn't concerned with KC - so no real "rivalry".

Mexico cares about the US, the US cares about Mexico. That's our rivalry. At the end of the day, beating Germany (which we've done at the senior level) only motivates them to beat us, it hasn't created a "rivalry".

    Just my two pfennigs.

I saw this game, and it was indeed VERY physical and nasty. Korea lost two key players to injury, and I know Germany also had some injuries. Does anyone know the status of these players? Who will Germany be missing, if anyone, when we face off in a couple of hours?

Germany showed great technical ability, but they were exposed on the counterattack. I hope we don't give up as much ground as Korea did in that match, or as much as we did to Paraguay (at least until the goal turned things around), but quick and precise counter attacks could be our route to victory with Germany going all out for a goal as soon as the whistle blows.

since the euro came in...there aren't anymore pfennig...just 'cent'... cute tho'! be careful in underestimating the german team. they had much of the possession against south korea, and lost really only because they gave up a really bad couple of mistakes in the back. if they tighten it up they'll be very tough. on tv their coach mentioned their strategy will be to focus on the 3 very important players (seemed a bit of a dis on the rest of the team)---here he listed e.j., bobby, and magee.

i'd expect changes in the germany lineup for this one - the so. korea performance was pretty flat - one guy who won't be pulled is chelsea manchild mountain robert huth - dear lord please don't give this guy any danger free kick oppurtunities!! patchinsky left the first match with an injury, don't know his status

Fook. It's 3-0 for the Teutonic Plague in the 64th; three goals in their last five shots.

Where, oh where, is the ghost of Jovan Kirovski?
