Definitely..............not. I think I'll go somewhere that people actually discuss football in a football forum.
31st today, I don't think I really want any last minute additions anyway, the squad is fine. I'm really happy with how it turned out, the defensive line is now something I can be proud of, whereas last year (and about 5 years before that) I was scared as hell of it. Robben was important for us, but Ronaldo is better, and does pretty much the same thing, with Robben around, Granero would get no minutes, and I'm tired of seeing our fantastic youth disappear into the abyss every year. So all in all, pretty pleased, even with Robben gone
I was under the impression that Robben wouldn't affect Granero's minutes. Granero comes in for Kaka or Xabi while it was often that both players were on the field at the same time during pre-season. AS is reporting that we're still in for Ribery, but I'm sure most of you already knew that. http://goal.com/en/news/12/spain/20...-madrid-havent-given-up-on-bayern-munich-star
Well Granero can play Left Wing and AMC, one less of either would improve Granero's minutes I'm guessing. I hope VDV stays, he had a poor first season, but he's got the talent, and he's not worth anything at the moment, I hope he has a breakout season that either lets us enjoy his talent, or allows us to sell for loads.
This has gone under the radar: http://www.elpais.com/articulo/depo.../Celta/Vigo/elpepudep/20090831elpepudep_3/Tes We just signed Celta youth product Joselu, and loaned him back to Celta.
Apparently Vdv is staying . Pellegrini and Valdano approached him on Friday and told him he will get his number back (23) and that they are counting on him. Ridicules if you ask me.
I'm glad he's staying, I know the majority on the forum wants him sold, but he adds to the squad depth that was lost from the departures of Robben & Sneijder. How many other teams in the world can have a player like VdV (who has the talent and the potential to come round) sitting on the bench and willing to fight for a place in the side. I mgiht be wrong, but I think he'll surprise a few this season. Even if we keep him for only a season it will be worth it. Next season we can step it up for Ribery!
Why is it ridiculous? Well, for you it is ridiculous whatever would have happened with him. If we sold him for peanuts like the offers we got, it would be ridiculous. We keep him and it is still ridiculous. Maybe we should send him to Castilla.
We told him two months ago that he is not part of this team, he wasn't training with other players, he is probably insulted with the way he was treated... and now he is staying. I actually don't mind that much if he stays, but the whole process was nothing less than ridiculous. I think some youth player should be given a chance instead of him. But this is probably science fiction in Real Madrid.
I wouldn't go right to glad, but considering the events of the last week coupled with the lack of reasonable offers I don't have a problem with this. I hope so
I did state that the sole reason I'm glad is because of the departures of Robben & Sneijder. I always wanted one of the three to stay (preference was Robben) since Real is one of the only clubs in the world where we could accomodate one of the three on the bench.
I don't think anyone from Castilla is ready to step up in what is an important year for Perez and co. You can't just throw someone into the main team to fill a void, we're not Middlesborough! Demo's just ranting...
I think "throwing them in fire" could do more harm then good. Alought I'd be verry happy if we introduce them into first team slowly and patiently.
We have signed guy named Joselu. http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satell.../Noticia/OFFICIAL_ANNOUNCEMENT_2009-08-31.htm Does anyone know anything about him?
How about we let them play a few a more than the handful of games they've played for Castilla (has Sarabia even played for them ) before we work them into the First Team?
Do you even know where Alipio plays? Because last time I checked he was definitely worse than Higuain, Benzema and Van Nistelrooy.
