0:0 at half way mark. uva seems to look pretty flat. creighton is creating some good chances for themselves, but nothing has hit chord.

12 minutes to play: Creighton scores twice and now leads 2-1 after UVA took the lead early in the second half.

4 minutes to play....Creighton leads 3-1 over Virginia after a Jared Turner goal (1st of season). Looks like Jays will head to New York to play St. Johns again like last season.

congratulations to creighton; 3:1 winner. they got a flurry of goals (the last one basically uncontested) in the latter half of the second period.

after going down one, creighton managed to bring it back and take it to the next round. for uva, a sad way to end, because their young guys were making a run in the tournament, but altogether they should be proud of how they came around. they'll need to develop their young talent until next year and hopefully use this year as a stepping stone.

Congrats to a Creighton team that is peaking at the right point in the season. Year in and year out they are road warriors in the NCAA Tournament and this year has been no exception. If they can reach the College Cup this year's seniors will go down as one of the best bunch in collegiate soccer history after College Cup appearances in 2000 and 2002.

Can a Creighton follower please tell me that #13 on your team doesn't always behave the way he did during this match. He was a thug, jerk and downright disgrace to the rest of the Creighton squad. The ref was at fault for not stepping in earlier, but this guy went way overboard.

Besides that, Creighton deserves the victory for a strong final 20 minutes.

Not if they don't win anything.

There have been plenty of players to make four Final Fours, let alone three, and most of those guys won at least one NCAA title.

Indiana 97-00 (4 Final Fours, 2 NCAA titles)
Virginia 89-95 (6 Final Fours, 5 NCAA titles)
Indiana 82-84 (3 Final Fours, 2 NCAA titles)
Saint Louis 67-74 (7 Final Fours, 5 NCAA titles)
Saint Louis 59-65 (7 Final Fours, 5 NCAA titles)

    And so on...

Congrats to the Jays - this is the second time in four seasons Creighton came into C-ville and beat Virginia in the NCAA's so I don't see this as a fluke.

Creighton got off to a slow start but despite stumbling in the MVC Tournament, they're playing good ball right now. Their game with St. John's will be tough and even if they lose, it will be a great year for them considering they lost their leading scorer and top playmaker from last year's Final Four team.

I am a Creighton fan and get emails from their Sports Information people as well as from some other midwestern schools. Here are some interesting statistics about the Creighton team since 2000:

Creighton and Indiana have the most NCAA Tournament wins since 2000
(including this year), both with 10 wins each.

    UCLA and Stanford have 9
    UConn and UNC have 8

The most NCAA road wins since 2000 ....

Creighton is far and away the NCAA leader with seven road wins (not
including the neutral site win at the 2000 College Cup).

Portland, Indiana, and Fairleigh Dickinson all have three road wins since
    2000.

Creighton's seven road wins in the NCAA Tournament since 2000 are more than
46 team's TOTAL NCAA wins since 2000. (Not to mention all of the other
teams which have not qualified for the NCAA in that span).

Although I would not put up the argument that Creighton is in the very top of the best college teams ever, it is pretty impressive that they have had the kind of success they have had while playing essentially every game on the road.

He was really really bad. This woman right behind me started shouting "You suck 13" and before the game was over half of our little section was yelling it. My mom and I discussed his elbow-brace type thing before it even started, worried it would wind up hurting someone.

Um, it's hard to have wins on the road if you're seeded in the top 4. Creighton is an excellent side, always have been. They suffer from the same seeding problems as the rest of the midwest.
