If you miss World Soccer Daily, there is a simple way to show support...

on any of the soccer blogs (ives, MLS-R) simply reply to any and all posts with something like this (feel free to copy and paste)

"Sorry, but I disagree with an opinion you have, so I'm going to contact all your sponsors in an attempt to ruin your financial livelihood. You have to realize this is America and there is a price to be paid for saying anything anyone might disagree with."

or something similar. If you want, add the line A.C.E.L. (Any club except Liverpool) to help brand the backlash. If not, that's cool too.

But let's stay classy and not get into the whole threats thing.

Guess what, Ives deletes any comment you make like the one above. I posted that comment in a couple threads and they've all been deleted! Just for the record, other off-topic posts have been left on the board.

I'm going to keep him busy deleting comments today if he doesn't let it stand.

Serious question - how does this support WSD in any way?

You lost me at let's stay classy. Posting crap like this is a waste of time. WSD is off air by choice of Cohen. They know they have a ton of support without spamming other soccer outlets. If there are cases opened for the threats, I suppose those making the threats will eventually be punished. Perhaps WSD will be back if and when that happens. Until then, keep supporting the club you support and don't support the ones you hate.

I guess its a sign that Ives is scared to even report on the issue that he is not going to let himself be dragged into the firing line of the LFC crazies (the minority of the fans that send death threats being crazy, the minority of the fans that launched the boycott to destroy the major outlet for soccer fans in this country shouldn't be called crazy, just fanatics or zealots). Make up you own opinion on what it says that he deletes any reference to the issue in the comments section now.

And it shows support for WSD by pointing out how ridiculous the whole boycott was. These guys have declared victory and are patting themselves on the back for their "great job" of destroying the ONLY daily source for mass soccer discussion other then blogs in this country. Furthermore, it might disrupt the guys over at MLS-R who helped fuel this whole mess and stand to benifit from it by launching their own podcast. MAYBE you can argue that Ives deserves better, but I'm really disapointed he won't even step into the discussion. I never pegged him as a coward before.

Want to show support for WSD?

Wrtie to all of LFC's sponsors, telling them you will never buy their products or ues their services
Write to ESPN, Fox Sports, Setanta saying that you will never watch a Liverpool game on their networks, due to the despicible actions of their supporters.
Do the same to the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars (both owned by Hicks)
Do the same to any business ownen by of affiliated to Thomas Hicks or George Gillette.

If every fan of WSD did this...

Ives has spent some time this morning deleting my posts, until someone else got him to respond to one about how he's censoring them. He claimed he's stopping "threadjacking" by deleting any posts that were off topic. I don't think he's done this before, or at least not much.

All said, he's probably wise not to stick his neck out there for the crazies to threaten his family.

No offense but you would have been better writing up to WSD ex-sponsors and LFC sponsors, like the other lad suggested above.

So... show support by spamming the site of a dedicated US focused football journalist in the United States? How does bothering that guy help you, football in the US or WSD?

There are also a couple of new WSD support groups in Facebook as well. Just search for "World Soccer Daily" in Facebook.

I think tellling hicks you'd never support his Rangers is a bit like calling up coke and telling them you'd never buy new coke... today. I don't think he expects anyone to support them outside of Texas and he'd never notice it. Now, if i lived in Arlington then I'd probably have a bigger impact. Now if Liverpool ever came to America on tour we'd have an opportunity to boycott, but as is, they can't get their brand out there here anyway.

Are there any American teams that have some type of alliance with Liverpool? Like the Rapids-Arsenal or such?
