I am definitely going for the $84 tickets because I don't want to go back to the airport soaked for my flight home after the game.

I'm in. Getting there Monday afternoon and then taking in the sights and maybe a a practice before I start tripping about the tix. Hopefully, there is a box office at the stadium and the prices will be better in person.

Saturday - Tuesday, I'll be on the north coast at the beach. Wednesday through Friday, I'll be at a guest house near the corner of Ariapita and French.

    Re: Anyone Going to Trinidad?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! What a joke! Your fans, the ones who make you, are willing to travel to a foreign country to support the team and you want to rape them with these prices. Not too mention trying to get us all to join a bogus, corporate supporters club to pay exorbitant prices. Money grubbing scum.

NO THANKS! I will buy my ticket at the door on the street for 1/2 of what you are charging.

When is US Soccer going to wise up and stop trying to fleeces the diehards who bleed red, white and blue for them.

    Re: Anyone Going to Trinidad?

I am curious to see how much the tickets will be at the stadium. On one hand, I'm glad to have gotten my tickets now, just so I don't have to worry about it. And I'm glad I'll be sitting with other US supporters. But if the tickets at the stadium are much less than the prices US Soccer is charging (which I fear will be the case), then I will definitely be a bit upset.

    Re: Anyone Going to Trinidad?

I guess its a matter of paying for convenience and peace of mind, as well as the Fed charging what the market will pay, which is ok to a degree. But I am so bull sh!t over their official supporters club and trying to corner the market on everything, while working less and less with groups like American Outlaws and Sams Army that have done the same thing, tirelessly, for no financial gains.

It seems like US Soccer should be taking care of their fans and not charging them outrageous membership fees to overpay for tickets to matches.

Don't even get me started on what a rip off OleOle is. The are a scalper, not a travel agent. Plus, they keep spelling Tobago wrong. It's just funny.

I went down last October and met rksehga and thinwhiteduke there (hard to miss two of the maybe eight people in the stadium wearing red, white and blue). They nicely allowed me to join in the consumption of the beer bucket. Anyway, tickets should be easy to come by at the stadium and much cheaper than the USSF is offering; I bought one for the uncovered section for the equivalent of like $25 and freely roamed around until I met those guys and sat with them. The locals got a kick out of us and repeatedly came down to pose for pictures with us. (They also showered us with beer after they scored both their goals.)

If you guys have the time, I wholeheartedly recommend a few days on the beach in Tobago. Downtown Port of Spain is rather grimy.

I agree with the sentiments in terms of ticket prices. But when I went to the return qualifier in Barbados, I didn't purchase a match ticket via the USSF. I ended up buying at the stadium and the ticket to sit in the US "Supporters Section" cost the same as it did via the USSF website. So who knows? Perhaps the weather that time of year is so bad that they will actually be selling tickets under the roof for that much at the stadium. All I know is, for this price, I should be given beer vouchers and a butler.

Anyone received their tickets from the USSF yet? I'm making ita double header, going to SLC and then to T&T. I think they said they'd mail the tickets, which means I need them this week so I'm starting to wonder what's taking the USSF so long to distribute the tickets. They were certainly quick to charge me.

mine arrived today via UPS. They were shipped yesterday from USSF via UPS 2nd Day Air, but since I'm in Chicago, UPS delivered them the next day.

I ordered for myself and one other person; FYI the covered seats have a printed face value of Trinidad$500, and the Uncovered $300.

The tickets are not really tickets in the traditional ticketmaster style. They are basically a credit card listing the event, and there's no Section/Row/Seat #'s it just has either Covered $500 or Uncovered $300.

Says that gates open at 4pm, kickoff @ 7:30 pm

At $48.00 and $80.00 @ ticket by mail, I wonder how much they would be in person. I doubt the locals could afford those kind of prices to attend the match, they must be lower at the stadium.

By todays excahnge rates that is roughly $47 and $79 US. So, basically the same price, but i wonder if that was just the price for Americans through the Fed. It look slike I might make the trip down after all-work cancelle, just gotta figure out money. Hopefully the tix are around the same price or less down there.

You can tell by the info on them that the tickets/passes were made/printed in Trinidad, So I don't see why the prices wouldn't be the same for T&T supporters.

FYI I booked a room at the Hyatt Regency; their Web site says it's 2 miles from the stadium.

    Is anyone else staying there?

Because T&T fans cant afford as much as US fans. It's a home game for them, so their fed printed the ticks to be shipped to US. But they worked with the US fed to set the prices for American based supporters.

But maybe they will be the same price there.

I would love to hear a full report from those that are going tonight! Weather, stadium atmosphere, transportation to and from the stadium, etc. Wish I could be there tonight supporting the Nats!

Just got back to the USA from T&T this evening. I had a great time at the game last night. The USA didn't look that sharp and was lucky that T&T's shot off the woodwork didn't go in. Likewise fortunate that Tim Howard came up big. Not many US supporters in attendance but those of us who were there had a good time. We gathered at the side of the field after the game to cheer the team but they walked away toward the locker rooms, except for Ricardo and Landon who were being interviewed by ESPN. While we waited there Sunil Gulati came down to talk to us and thank us for coming.

I stayed at the Hyatt, which turns out to be the team hotel. I saw coaches and players around and shook Bob Bradley's hand and wished him well. I later saw him in the exercise room and at the pool. I didn't see that many players but others saw many more. Unfortunately, my son who came to T&T with me got sick with a high fever on game day so he ended up missing the game. But the guy in charge of security for the US Nats, who I had informed of my son's illness, gave me a US Soccer polo shirt to give to my son. That was a very kind act and one that my son (whose T&T experience was driving from the airport to the hotel at night, spending a day sick in a hotel room, and driving back to the airport early in the AM) really appreciated. A class act by a kind gentlemen.

The game-day experience was pretty laid back. Under the covered part of the stadium there were only about a dozen US fans, including Bennie Fielhaber's parents. The stadium was less than half filled, as both ends were largely vacant. There was constant drumming before and after the game which was pretty cool. A guy tried to get the crowd psyched up but the relatively small crowd didn't make for a truly passionate atmosphere. After reading about the Mexico experience, the T&T game-day scene was totally the opposite. Generally nobody paid attention to US fans. Those who did engaged in some light hearted ribbing or banter. One guy said "USA sucks" after the game, but having watched the game, you could actually construe that as a factual statement. In any event, it's 3 points and one more step toward South Africa. Glad I made my first out-of-country road trip.
