Mine are a size 9 and my other boots have been a size 9. but the other guy who got them on here got half size down and they fit right for him. so i think its down to how your feet fit the toe box so u might have to hunt them down and try them on

    hey,
My friend is giving me a pair of size 11.5 (too largefor me), unworn, vapor 4s. Could I somehow send them to nike in exchange for a different size/voucher? Should I just take this problem to the swap shop?

    thanks

I dont see why Nike would change them just because they are the wrong size. Plus, they are an older model now so they probably wouldnt do it.

If you choose to sell the boots, then use the swopshop thread.

nike returns defected shoes that are in the past 2 years of productions...so most of the IVs will be covered by that..if you send nike an exchange form and say your soleplate is coming off..they may say okay send them in and we will give you 180 bucks or so towards the vapor Vs...and then if they say that, take a pocket knife and cut off part of your soleplate :D

or sell those vapors to me (theyre my size) :)

Are the superflys good for defenders? I love them but am afraid after all the money they will not be protective enough. Dani Alves and Gallas wear them, but of course they are paid too. Still they wouldnt wear them if they weren't good for defenders. Don't know how they'll feel after tons of tackles and stuff

not really a defenders boot, theyre lightweight for strikers and not made to withstand hard tackles and people stepping on your feet

yah i would think those would probably be the worse boots for defenders...or anyone who wants protection in a boot. SFs probably have the least protection out of any boot.

superflies might be the new "cool" boot right now, but i think its better to get a boot with protection and comfort over light weight if you are a defender. something like the preds, or the new concaves, or the UA dominates, or lasers.

idk about all the defender/offender boot mumbo-jumbo. if a defender is fightin for a ball enough to get stepped on and kicked, then there is obviously a forward fighting for the same ball with the same odds of gettin stepped on or tackled hard, maybe even more so because defenders usually give the hits. so i'd want protection as a forward aswell. and as a defender, if i'm tryin to outrun a goal hungry forward, i wanna run as fast as possible, so vaps may help.

i played defense in vapor III's one year and loved them cause i just felt faster even if i wasnt really. it just gave me more confidence in the foot race and beating forwards on the counter attack. now that i'v outgrown the silly naive view on boots, that they affect how u play, its fair to say that i'd play the same way in any boot regardless of position. so in conclusion, no matter what position you play u generally want
    -light weight
    -comfort
    -protection

it just depends on which is more important to u and which u want to sacrifice for the other

id say adipures for a defender...leightweight comfortable protection.

forwards are usually **********s (no offense) and dont go into tackles as hard as defenders will thats why the vapors are so lightweight and thin

Im goin with 90laser77 on this one, I think its difficult to justify that defenders shouldn't don MV's because they are 'more likely' to get stepped on...

I think I can speak on behalf of the majority of defenders on this board and apply a bit've theory; defenders generally tackle more than forwards (who are 'supposed' to wear ze MV's), therefore, forwards are at a greater risk of getting stepped on, studded, boom-timed etc etc, so surely they should wear boots with greater protection??? Nope, i'm afraid not, the vapor gives you that 'I feel like i'm Usain.. nearly' the first time you wear them, they probably don't make you run faster but they definitely do feel good! I choose my boots because of how they feel + fit, even if they don't necessarily offer as much protection as a pair of under armour's, they do feel like 3rd base + do fit like a wetsuit..

As far as i'm aware there have been no independent studies analysing the levels of protection football boots offer, brands like Under Armour & Concave suggest they give greater levels of protection than the competition, but you have to take their word for it and make your own decision as to whether they are telling porkies to make more ££..

I've gone through some MV's in my time as a defender, Cinder I's, Black/Gold III's, Blue/White III's and currently IV SL's (quite possibly the greatest boots I've put on, great fit/touch/uniqueness....until I have to send them back because of the cracked sole). To be honest, I have been studded + lost some toe nails, but personally I don't think any other boot comes close to what the MV offers, and I know for a fact that when I got studded wearing adipure II's it hurt just as much!! I'd definitely consider some SF's in Black/Yellow, aslong as they feel ight and didn't cost as much as a weekend in Amsterdam.. but if I were you Halamadrid26, i'd rock whatever feels good, if protection is that important then try some pairs on and go with whatever you think feels safest!

The superflys are a lot more durable than you think. took 2 heavy tackles yesterday both of which went to the boot and didnt do any more damage to the boot or foot than a leather boot.

Once i have got used to the toe box i think these have the prospects of being the best boots i have had.

The biggest surprise was getting no blisters from them, being a Vapor virgin and reading all the horror storys of blisters, holes in feet, toes falling off (well maybe not that 1) till the boot is broken in after a while. but im not complaining.

i will play devils advocate lol:
i agree, defenders are doing the most amount of tackling, on both forwards and midfielders, sometimes the odd defender playing up the field...

...and the main tool of use for tackling is obviously the foot. wouldn't the player making the most amount of tackles, and therefor being involved in more physical contact using the feet, want to protect their feet moreso than a forward, who is using their feet less for physical contact (tackles) and more for touch, dribbling, and shooting?

i have played both defender and forward on the left side and have been stomped on the feet here and there....and i have noticed that the stomping happens more frequently when im playing defender (although admittedly, ive played much more forward than defender).

my guess is that defenders, as mentioned previously, make many more tackles than any other player, therefor are naturally better at tackling (ie more ball, less player and foot). Its when you, as a defender, take a ball away from a forward, that the forward is eager to get the ball back and makes awkward/bad tackle attempts that the defender's feet get stomped/studded. Forwards are naturally good at striking/dribbling (or at least should be) but tackling i would assume would be a weak point. and we all know its people who suck at tackling that you need foot protection from the most.

im just basing this off experience. TWICE i have lost the toenail on my big toe when playing left back because i took the ball away from a forward, then the forward in the heat of the moment desperately tried to get the ball back and ended up tackling my foot instead of the ball. Forwards, unless they have a bit of defending experience, generally are not great at tackling, and are more prone to bad tackles....bad tackles that defenders need protection from.

like i said, just playing devil's advocate lol :D
im definitely no defender expert, just throwing out my two cents.

but i definitely agree on one point: wear whatever you feel most comfortable and confident in, whether its vapors or lasers or legends or preds (etc.)
