    They should play Hallelujah.

I'd love to see them lose by 40 goals (Hallelujah that is).

You know, it would probably be asking too much of the K-league to ditch the rather insipid all-star format for 1 year and put together a K-league select to face Real Madrid (assuming they come over).
That would be a much more appealing and entertaining prospect, but the Korean football authorities aren't really noted for innovation or great forward thinking...

That seems to be a great idea. I would pay up to $50 to watch that game at the pitch.

DoDo and Magno up front (Amittar replacing DoDo if he transfers to Japan) would have some fire power.

To be honest I wouldn't want them to play against Seongnam purely because Seongnam have such a crap average attendance - less than 10k at games when they've been champions for the past 3 seasons, yet there would be close to 60k supporting them against Madrid.

If any K-league team were to be chosen to face them, then I would hope that it would be Daejeon, as a reward for all the work and effort they put in to promoting their club in the community.

But a K-league all-stars v Real Madrid is still my preferred option.
I read in an article that it will cost 7,800,000,000 won to bring Real Madrid to Korea - is it really going to be worth that?!
Looks like folk will be paying "up to $50" for this game! ;)

Real Madrid is asking more than twice the price they got from touring Japan this year. I think that's way too much.

And when they do come, I think Sungnam should play them. Don't worry about Sungnam's crap attendance. I think enough people will fill up just because we're speaking Real Madrid here.

Hey I like the all star matches :p
Personally couldn't care whether or not Real Madrid showed up. But I guess that's better than Man Utd. agh

We can't have a K-League select vs Real Madrid.

    1) The Venue will be in Seoul.
--> There is no club team in Seoul so promoting soccer in Seoul is virtually pointless.
--> How much money will we waste playing in Seoul again to please the sponsors and the TV stations? How much more sacrifice do we need to save the stadium from losing money like it ought to?

    2) The Venue could be in Jeju.
--> There is no club here too. Actually, a plan doesn't even exist. Do people in Jeju even care about Real Madrid? Or rather, will they even know who Jo Byung-guk is? Or who Magno is? Ok they might know Kim Do-hoon but not the fact that he won a record-breaking golden boot.
--> Again a waste of time and money to play here.

    3) Club teams MUST promote themselves.
--> Seongnam did a great job against world-class teams during the Peace Cup. I guess that wasn't enough. The winner of the FA Cup and the League should battle it out and should play Real.

    4) K-League select will suck arse. I don't want to embarras ourselves against those eurosnobs.

    5) Finally, I suggest that we should stay away from National games and All-star games for a while. They are pointless, stupid, and a waste of time. And they serve no purpose to glorify and beautify and spark interest in the league.

    PITY PITY PITY.

I don't really see the problem with Seoul. It's got a nice stadium, it's full of people who support the national team, and it's probably loaded with fans who support teams that play in other cities too. Plus, Korea's not exactly Russia. It's not too hard to grab a train or bus ticket or drive to Seoul, especially since a lot of the big clubs are actually not too far from Seoul itself.
I know the K-League select is not the Korean national team and involves a lot of foreign players, but if it's a team that represents Korean football, I'm sure the crowds will show up.

It's becoming boring though that they always play in Seoul and why should they? How do you know that Daegu, Gwangju or wherever wouldn't sell their stadium out?

Plus the traffic is a bleeding nightmare and half the games are played midweek so you can hardly just pop up from Jeonju for the game ona tuesday night. I guess the same could apply to people in Seoul travelling elsewhere in Korea to watch though using your argument.

As for Seoul people supporting nearby K-League teams.....

It is well known that a fair few support Suwon (maybe a thousand? HJ or Essvee would know better).

Virtually zero support Anyang (I have first hand experience).

NONE support Seongnam (even the locals there don't like them because of the Moonie connection and Seoul did not want them to relocate to be their team because of this reason).

And Bucheon....well you only have to take a look at their crowd averages.

I think the core of the red devils comes from Seoul because they have no K-League team to support and they wanted to fill that footie void in their lives.

There are 30 million Koreans outside of Gyeonggi Province. Give them something too.

I really think the fact that the 30 million Koreans outside of Gyongi province is the best reason to hold this event outside of Seoul.
You're right, it's unfair to have it in Seoul all the time... Daegu could easily fill it's stadium I agree.

Ok, in all honesty we know that it will be Korea NAT vs Real and the venue will be in Seoul. But I gaurantee if the game is on a wednesday, the tickets might sell out but we will see empty seats (first hand experience).
