Then you'll have to trade your front row seats with me occassionally so I can grab me a handful of... er.... soccer player.
new pics of the stadium on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=98892&id=89209317187 the last few are aerial pics and it gives you a good picture of how far along the overall construction is. steel has arrived!
where can I buy a Philly Union hardhat? or do I have to get some of my students in Camden to "coerce" a construction worker into handing one over?
Umm, have you ever actually been to Citizens bank park? If you think 3 miles is too far away to see a skyline, you must be blinder than a referee. I drive north on I-95 5 days a week, as long as isn't overcast, I've seen the city skyline from as far south as the Christiana river bridge on 495, 12 miles south of the stadium site and nearly 30 miles from Center City. When the stadium is complete I'm going to go to Fox point park, which is a few miles south of the stadium, and take a picture of the stadium, bridge, and skyline with my telephoto. That being said, I doubt you'll be able to see the skyline because of the roof on the stadium, but not because it's not visible, if you drive over the Comm Barry Bridge, its easily visible.
yea, you can definitely see center city from CBP. maybe not from the 1st/2nd level, but from the seats i can afford you can
And I can see the jumbotron on the south end of the Linc from my third floor. Not in any detail, mind you, but more in the Close-Encounters-flashing-lights kind of way.
I took a few pictures of the stadium yesterday 8/16 and put them up on the Flickr sight and on my Facebook page. I added them to existing file of stadium photos.

That was so beautiful it nearly brought tears to my eyes. I will now restore your mickey ears picture to it's place of honor on my desktop wallpaper. Also, I'm glad you didn't wreck your car or yourself.
Call Steve Jobs! Way to sneak up on it - it's really STARTING to look like SOMETHING!! I am STILL bummed that those magnificent arches @ the pinnacle of the span were not incorporated into the logo - a real design FAUX PAS!!
Red Bull Arena is getting it's under soil heating system installed this week. Its making me realize how far behind we are.
Are seats realy going to be in small sections as it appears in the pics? Seems odd! Is the supporters section going to be bench seats?
Those aren't the seats yet (thought the same thing when I 1st saw the pics), it's just the under structure mostly.
Until you think about when they started their stadium process... and then you realize that even though ours started later it is making a lot faster progress. Plus MetroCow ArenaPark enjoyed some degree of acceleration in their construction because they don't actually need to install seats. Thirty or forty folding lawn chairs should be sufficient to handle the attendance numbers they'll have next year.
