We are definitely looking for a young CB. Marquez is in the last year of his contract and probably won't be getting renewed. Puyol is getting old as well. Chygrynskiy from Shaktar has been the # 1 target, though.
Guardiola doesn't appear sold on either of their chances. I think it's way too early to tell without giving them more playing time, but he seems very hard to budge from his player evaluations.
I think Milito has a strange injury situation? Philo's right that Barca need a young CB after reading what he said, they are in for that Shakhtar geezer.
You bought one for 16 m and the other for 10.5 and you are not sure about them , Spanish clubs and money .
Diego Lopez anyone? I am really unsure about Foster. I am willing to give Koozy a chance after a good display against Valencia. We were linked with Lopez before.
I don't think we've had any real links with him. The only links we've had with him and a crapload of other players, are links from MEN or the evening news. It's rubbish.
Goal keeping is the least of our worries. Since it looks like we are not going to get much out of Berbatov again this year another striker must be brought in. Can we get anyone to take Berba off our hands????? He always looks like he just could care less...
Seeing Foster in goals today. I believe that if we had VDS in goals today, we would have not copped at least one of the two goals. I don't know why your so hard on Berbatov, I think he had a good, not brilliant, but good game. Start a few very good attacking moves, in particular the one where he held up the ball, sucked in, Cole I think it was, and then ran off his man for a 1-2 to create a 1 on 1 for himself. I think the midfield is the area that we need more re-reinforcement in.
I thought Berba looked good and more importantly he and Rooney are starting to develop an understanding that is becoming more and more obvious to the eyes.
Once they get into a rhythm they could be devestating. They need to coordinate their dropping back though, as we need to ensure there is somebody upfield. There were a couple of times when both came deep. I felt Berbatov performed well. Good on the ball, excellent touch, great hold-up play. Only minor quibble was that there were a couple times when we were on a quick break and he killed the tempo dead. Players had streamed forwards, trying to exploit the space but the pass never came.
I noticed this too. I saw Park in the center forward position a couple of times which seemed like a weird tactic.
