The thing about Jozy is that even when he is not in form, he can be effective.

I don't think he was in form in South Africa. Too many hard first touches. But stilll, with his size and speed, he created trouble for some of the best defences in the world.

But he will be booed if he easily gives up possession.

I like from the standpoint that the no one on the roster really has the same skillset as Jozy, he has that power and pace combo that was lacking for Hull last season. However, the Prem is a BIG leap, and I really feel that at his age it would be best for him to go to a Greece, Turkey, Holland and get used to playing every week before letting some of the best defenses in the world have at him.

Its one of those ultimate sink or swim situations. Either he adapts and flourishes or he gets absolutely trounced, his confidence from this summer is gone and he's off to some mid-level team in a subpar league at a critical part of his development. There really isn't much middle ground or room for error in this move, because Hull will be fighting for every point just to stay up.

Yeah Phil Brown is a terrible coach alright. Oh wait hes not. He freaking got HULL CITY to stay in the premier league. I don't care how douchey his earphone is it takes something special to do that. And by the way just because the manager isn't some faggy Frenchman who is obsessed with young african boys doesn't mean the man is a bad manager.

If Jozy puts in more than 10 next year I'll have to head to the doctor to deal with my 4 hour erection.

I'm pretty excited to see Fulham v. Hull now. An American showcase?

Fine, that should provide plenty of time for Jozy to travel to Mexico City. He will be at Azteca, correct? ;)

What's there to understand? The post was clear: Jozy either adapts at Hull, or "he gets absolutely trounced, his confidence from this summer is gone and he's off to some mid-level team in a subpar league."

It's a declaration of intent to cause maximum damage to EPL defenses.

Good to hear Jozy is going to play in the EPL. I think he'll do fine and hopefully get a lot of playing time. Wearing #9 tells me he might.

    Hi everyone,
I'm a Hull fan and have come to see your views on Altidore - It all sounds very promising. I also run a Hull forum here: www.hull.vitalfootball.co.uk We've had a few Americans visit today and they've all said good things about the 19 year old so we are all quite excited.

Having read your thread, and seen your discussion on our other strikers, he has be signed as first choice so don't worry about that. He should get plenty of match time and experience before South Africa next year.

The site will keep you updated if you want to read it 9I'll try to pop back here too)

We're also on Twitter if you want to follow Hull City there. http://twitter.com/VitalHull

So you should be - Jozy is the real deal. Time will tell how good he will become, but he's got talent and a great work ethic. He's impressed us all with his play on the field and his behaviour off it. Not only a talented striker with a nose for the goal, but a very mature young man as well. When listen to him in interviews and such it's hard to believe he's only 19.

He will be a great addition to Hull, and we all hope that Hull is a good place for him to develop!

Your club just sold some #9 shirts in the States. Congrats on the acquisition, of our young American players, he's our pride and joy.

And the fact that he got the #9 shirt makes me breathe easier in the belief that this isn't another Xerex situation, that he was signed on to play and score goals, at least in Brown's mind...

Jozy just needs to realize he can compete at highest level and be successful. Of course, the confed cup isn't the world cup, but, the teams we played against were world class. Critics can argue it's meaningless, but, the teams weren't there to play friendlies.

If he does maintain the confidence and work ethic required, he'll do fine in England. I think he can be physical enough to succeed there as well.

Insulting one of the finest managers the English game has ever known doesn't change the fact that Phil Brown is a contemptible human being. He's so incredibly egotistical it boggles my mind. The whole "team talk on the pitch" thing did nothing but draw attention to him and destroy his team's morale. Trying to lead the fans in celebrating staying up doesn't really work when you've pissed away one of the best starts ANY side had to the season. And it's been shown he was absolutely slanderous in his accusations against Arsene and Cesc.

Phil Brown has been saying all along that they want another striker (to pair with Jozy)... McCormick was their latest 'hopeful' land in that regard... Looks like they may have to sharpen their pencils or move on to other options...

We should be making an imporved offer for McCormack fairly soon. Don't worry about Jozy, I presume that he will start alongside with Cousin or McCormack. The Cardiff lad can also play on the wing, and with Craig Fagan & Richard Garcia injured, PB may play him there although the point of him wanting a transfer is to be played as a striker.

You mean the same Cesc who spits on people? The same Arsene who year after year says, We have a good young squad, we might not win this year but next year will be the year! I'm tired of Arsenal fans acting like their players or coach are somehow less arrogant than any other person. For the love of Christ all I hear out of those two queers is We play the most beautiful or The other team's style of play was ugly. Phil Brown might be a tremendous D-bag but even he has an easier time admiting that his team lost fair and square than those gayballs.
