    All,

After wading through a lot of the message boards, I still can't find a definitive answer on where everyone is going to meet to go to the game. I get in late Tuesday night and probably won't be able to make the pre game festivities at Yuppies. We are staying at the Marriott in Paseo de Reforma and would like to meet up with all the other fans to go to the stadium without paying for the OLEOLE bus. Any ideas where and when this is happening? Thanks.

The Sheraton with the Ole Ole crowd still seems like the spot to be that morning. The Sheraton could also arrange for "Taxi Seguros".....Safe Taxis

Are we not taking the Metro as a group anymore?

That's great, but can everyone agree on one place or subway station to meet at? It seems like people are staying at several different hotels in different neighborhoods.

i am quite certain you wont be able to get everyone to agree on one place. there was one meetup that the SE group was organizing as i believe they are taking a bus. the most definitive metro meetup ive seen was courtesy of superlimey:

11:30 - 12:00: Meet-up at the Galleria Plaza (Zona Rosa)
12:00: Shanks' pony to Insurgentes Metro
    12:30: Metro Mayhem
    1:30: Azteca Arrival
2:00: March-in thru gates and tunnel and full lung -

Yes, this is still the plan:

11:30 - 12:00: Meet-up at the Galleria Plaza (Zona Rosa)
12:00: Shanks' pony to Insurgentes Metro
    12:30: Metro Mayhem
    1:30: Azteca Arrival
2:00: March-in thru gates and tunnel and full lung -
"Oh when the yanks, go marching in..."
    3:00: Kickoff
4:49: "Some people think it's all over, it is now... "
2-0 to the yanks IN Azteca. History made and you are there!!

recopied for emphasis - plus I think the chant has to be included ;)

We'll leave the Galleria Plaza Hotel at 12 sharp as I don't think anyone wants to remotely risk getting to Azteca post-anthem. Yes, we'll probably get seperated and end up in two or three cars but we can partially regroup at Tasquena and fully regroup at Azteca (we'll wait until all cars have arrived before taking the short walk across to the stadium).

The Galleria Plaza has a rooftop pool and a lobby restaurant area (for brekkie/coffee) with fans probably congregating at both. Just make sure you're in the lobby for a midday departure if you want to be travel en masse with the group.

    T-6 days and counting...

I don't think we want to set up multiple meeting points given how many of us there are. Let's keep it at 11:30-12:00 at the Hotel Galleria Plaza and we leave there at 12:00 sharp.

We'll probably be at Insurgentes Metro around 12:30ish anyway but that's a guess. By all means try and connect there if you like but there are no guarantees with a large group, on unfamiliar turf, of any kind of real schedule.

He means the the Insurgentes Metro station in the Zona Rosa. It's located at the intersection of Insurgentes Av and Genova. Genova is the pedestrian only shopping area that connects Paseo del la Reforma and Insurgentes.

The Minnesota First Volunteers are staying near the Zocalo, but are also planning to ride the subway to the game. We'll make our way over to Zona Rosa and will meet in the lobby of the Galleria Plaza Hotel between 11:30 and noon.

You could not pay me enough to go into that dirthole of a country let alone that taint of a city.

The only reason I'd go is to drop off some illegals and shoot all the be(a)ners who were chanting "osama" at the last game down there.
