Zakuani certainly looks like a player with an international future tonight vs. Barca.

He's the one Seattle player who has looked dangerous (late in the first half as I write this) and has consistently attacked and looked confident on the ball.

He's show good pace, above-average skill and a good cross.

Were he a US citizen, I'm sure he'd be in the mix. But he's years from that happening and as I said before, I don't see him waiting around for citizenship.

I think that that is supposed to read:

"What that means is that they learned to play in the USA. And by the way, why not support Jorge Flores for the ticket? He was born and raised in the USA and scored in his first few weeks..."

With that many mistakes in two and a half sentences, I'm guessing that you're not really American and are just trolling here to rile people up. If you don't know "Born and raised in the USA.", then you most probably weren't. Which is fine, just don't try to start stuff by acting like you were.

Thanks for playing, now please run along.

Zakuani looked like the best Sounder on the field tonight.

    Mod's note

    please avoid personal attacks. Thanks

    Zakuani is indeed pretty awesome.

With that said there are some holes in his game (nothing insurmountable...sp?). He HEAVILY favors his right foot whenever he attacks. Defenses are going to quickly see that and start shutting down his right, just like they were doing to Freddy Adu in MLS when he kept going to his left.

Another thing is sometimes he doesn't time his off-the-ball runs very well. Granted he'd be playing with different players on the USMNT, but still..another factor to keep in mind.

If he ever learned to pass it consistently, he'd be unstoppable.

From what I know and have dug up many things about him in the past, his brother(Gabriel Zakuani) is 23 and a defender. He has formerly played for Fulham and Stoke City and is currently playing for Peterborough United. I read an interview before whick Steve stated he would like to play for Congo alongside his brother.

The interview was about a year ago so i do not know if things have changed. I dont have much time now but later i will try and dig up the link.

If Zakuani is right footed, why does Sigi play him on the left side of the midfield. Ive only watched a few Sounders games all year but it seems like Zakuani is always playing left midfield. You make it sound like he has absolutely no left foot. If true, why is he playing there? No offense to Sounders fans, but Brad Evans is nothing special and should not be forcing Zakuani to the left.

Zauani is left footed if I am not mistaken. He has a very poor dribbling technique where he does a step-over with right foot, everytime, to set up a cross with his left.

He did well versus Barcelona, Kinda like, dare I say it, a Thierry Henry like player. Speed, average-looking one on one ability, yet highly effective in getting to the byline anyways. However, he's said he wants to go to Europe soon, so maytbe he's realizing his only chance of international football is the US, though I'm wondering why Congo haven't at least approached him.

He is probably still many years away from USA citizenship. If he decideds to play abroad he will have to live overseas and that will only make the process go slower.

If by some chance he is only a few years away from citizenship and wants to play for the USA, staying in the MLS is absolutley necessary.
