The game was on TV here in China, but due to commitments to complete I paid less attention than planned. As the article conveyed, Spector earned his first start. The CSL is crappola, including league leading Beijing, but West Ham's 2-0 win was against BJ's second team. Talk about poor planning, their first team had a league match.
Just returned from Beijing, Spector was OK. Was interviewed pitchside after the match, gave the travelling Hammers a wave. These games are about getting match fit and trying out tactics and formations. That's about it really.
link to video of the 2 goals WHU scored. the second goal was assisted by Spector. http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/3088268/
Good video clip, haven't seen the goals replayed before. I can see several of my mates on it! That was a very nice through ball by Spector. The club want Neill back but not at the money he was on before, I really can't say what the outcome will be. We've signed a young Swiss defender Daprela but I think he's more LB cover as Ilunga is likely to be away on ACN duty after Christmas.
neill is up in the air and if he doesn't return the RB spot is his to lose. specs has shown this summer that he has good vision and can strike a pretty good cross when needed. i'd love to see him get a run of games this year.
it appears that way. neill is reluctant to sign and probably won't-- opting for more money elsewhere (sunderland by recent reports). WHU are looking at some replacements, but money seems to be a bit tight and i think the consensus is to spend the big bucks on a second striker. as of right now, i'd say the RB spot is spector's to lose.
my optimism is dampend with spector, to be honest. i think he's a great player, but he needs to stay injury free-- something he hasn't ever done. the last thing i want is for him to be the only suitable RB on the squad, play a ton of games and raise his chances of getting injured and/or burned out for the WC.
He's not the only RB option. Gabbidon has played well at RB in the past, theres' Faubert, although propably no better than Spector. Behrami has played RB and is a better player though I think he'd be wasted in that position. Neill actually wants to stay at WH and that is his preferred option but West Ham are rightly not going to pay him the huge wages he was on before. Neill has always been money motivated, you don't choose West Ham over Liverpool for footballing reasons.
i forgot about faubert. behrami has no right to be slotted away in the corner. he's too multi-dimensional of a player for his talents to be wasted back there. where has sunderland suddenly gotten all this money? my gut says neill is leaving. you'd think having a leadership role within the team as captain would appeal to a higher sense of his...but he's an ass and has no higher sense. maybe my gut just wants him to leave
