I actually think Will is a good pick for this game. Who would you pick in his place? Kinnear and MLS obviously want to win the game. Kinnear probably picked Johnson partially due to the above reasons, but much more so for less stupid reasons. Kinnear needs to fill out his squad with some versatile players who can play multiple positions. Johnson fits that description. Kinnear wants a guy who can play with anyone and will gel instantly with those around him. Johnson fits that description. Kinnear wants a guy who will give it everything he has. Johnson fits that description. Kinnear wants a guy with a little fire under him and something to prove. Johnson fits that description too. Johnson may not have had the best season so far, but if I'm in Kinnears boots, he seems like a pretty good pick for the all-star team.

Do we really care if he comes and plays? I heard a radioo interview of Laddycakes the other day. It sounds like he has peaked some interest overseas. Yet he claims MLS doesnt want him to leave and will try to keep him. Wont this be is 3rd feable attempt to play overseas?
Regarding Johnson--it may not be why he was picked, but given where he's from, he'll be pretty motivated to give Everton some stick. The boy grew up in the Kop, for hell's sake.
ASG Starting 11? Anyone have the scoop on the starting 11? Any chance we could see Morales or Beckerman? Or are they going to be last minute subs?
Re: ASG Starting 11? Kinnear told the trib that an RSL guy will be in the starting 11. He didn't say who though. He also said that all 3 will play.
