I already bought mine. I was looking to grab a couple extra just in case someone needed them. I called Ticketmaster Mexico directly and they knew exactly what I was talking about. Just buy a $2 calling card and give them a call.
It seems like the FMF want to put all of you guys ( usa fans ) directly in the "LA MONUMENTAL" zone ... the "barra" more aggressive of all the Mexican liga ... even the mexicans fans that visit the Azteca try to avoid that fu@@k@ings guys of la monumental, be ready for the punches !!! and training running because if USNT win ... ohhh my gosh !!!
I'll give that a try later. My Spanish is pretty awful - never studied it, just what I picked up on the pitch and around town. Is it reasonable to expect I can get an English speaking rep?
Ole Ole are trying to give FIFA a run for their money in the contest of world's worst $199 seats in a non-title event.
just got off the phone with a friend that works at azteca. as off right now, we are sitting lower level same as '05. there is no way we are going to up upperdeck because of security reasons. we might be moved over behind goal but still at the bottom like in 01. Azteca is not in charge of seating (he works for stadium), FMF is.
I just started another thread in this forum on possibly chartering our own coaches from the Zona Rosa to Azteca and back (didn't want to clog this thread). Please take a look if you're interested in this option. Thanks.
Looks like many of us have purchased upper deck (G9, G4, G5 Gwhatever) tickets just for the sake of having tickets. We'll all be getting our tickets at will call so we'll need to meet up together (which is partially already organized) to get herded into the correct section (baja especial O & P) together. I have heard stories that the boys working the WillCall window at Azteca might try to screw us over by holding our tickets for a ransom once we get to the window, but if we all go at once, we can put a stop to that.
YOu can go to a Pharmacy with a ticketmaster kiosk and get them printed,, Look into it. http://www.fahorro.com.mx/
how do you guys will go to the Azteca from the Hotel ?? take a look to the following link : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mexico_City_metro.svg you must go to TASQUEÑA station ans switch to the light rail and go over Estadio Azteca station : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xochimilco_Light_Rail hope it will help you .....
if you arrive a day before you can go to one ticketmaster kiosko ang get them printed instead to wait until the stadium, clic the following link and you will see several options to go and print your tickets : http://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/h/tcenters/sur.html ( south district of the city ) http://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/h/tcenters/centro.html ( near downtown and Zocalo ) take a look !!
I live in Mexico city and i just found out that the tickets, at least the good tickets, are totally sold out. I was out of town for the most part of last week so I'm in shock right now! Me and a friend are going down to Azteca tomorrow to try and get some good tickets, if we can't find them there we'll go to any ticketmaster kiosk left until we get them, so if any of you need tickets let us know we'll be happy to get them for you.
I emailed US Soccer asking which section their tickets would be in and got a reply yesterday. They repeated the "upper end zone section" bit and said that they didn't know anything about any sections O and P. So Ole Ole, who got their tickets from US Soccer, claims to know the tickets are located in the General Cabacera section but US Soccer is not so certain. This is starting to make the 2006 World Cup fiasco look like cake in comparison. What a CF... I think "upper end zone section" is a bad translation from Spanish, and that they really mean the upper half of sections O and P (see map below, the sections have upper and lower halves). I'll put money on that being the case. I've been to the 2001 and 2005 WCQs and I'm telling you all, there is no way they will put the US fans in more than one section or on the top deck. The security logistics would be too complicated for what will probably only be 500 US fans attending.
I just got off the phone with ticketmaster in Mexico and they told me the U.S fan section is the one behind the goal which is O and P, unfortunately there are no tickets left here so I'll have to buy mine on the upper end zone which totally sucks!! I'll go to Azteca stadium in a while to see if they have any tickets left maybe i'll get lucky...
Me too. You don't need to go to the stadium to pick them up. Just go to a tickemaster distributor anywhere in DF a few days before the game and they'll print them out for u.
"Tickets held at Will Call can be collected 24 hours after the purchase and 1 day prior to the event at Ticketmaster Outlets in Mexico or 1 hour prior to the event in the venue's box office. Tickets can only be retrieved by the cardholder with the order confirmation number, credit card used to make the purchase and a valid US photo ID with signature (state ID, driver's license or passport)."
Um... what makes you guys think you'll get to sit anywhere but the section that's on your ticket? I keep trying to keep myself from injecting my comments into this, but I'm worried about you guys. There's is NO reason to believe that US fans carrying tickets for other parts of the stadium will be placed in the US section. That's not to say it won't happen. There's just no information that guarantees that it will. Good luck.
often at matches such as these supporters of the away team are all put into one section for reasons of safety and security.
Just bought my tix. Section GENNTE, row G7, seats 13-14. Never been to Azteca, but I imagine when we go in as a group (I'll be taking the subway) they won't let us sit anywhere but in the U.S section. Gonna be rowdy. Should I bring my raincoat?
I have an extra ticket in Section O behind the goal. In row 5 which is close to the top (row 1 in at top of section..Different in Mex). Got these throgh Banamex presale....A crisp $100 should suffice! Let me know! Staying in Polanco at Camino Real Hotel! High Rolla style!
