yea but lets be honest on the second goal anybody could've made that. all he did was just sit there and waited for Jucilei to do all the work then pass the ball. cmon. no effort, just one good assist the rest bogus.

Maybe. I agree that this is not a good performance by him. He did not do much beside scoring and assisting. But my point is Celito is not being fair. If he wanted to mention he missed the penalty (which he created himself), he should have also mentioned he did score and assist. Assisting and scoring are the most important jobs of forwards. People don't need to take those credits away from him. I found that Celito's command is mean, he really didn't need to do that.

Okay, I don't want to turn this thread into a war, so continue the Brasileirão discussion.

I don't hate Ronaldo. I am happy for him that he is playing and scoring. There is no quesiton he is talented. It just pisses me off when people start campaigning for him to return to the Brazil and play in the WC when it's clear that his negatives outweight his positives.

Yeah I do not know about him representing Brasil at this point in his career, but his work in Brasil at the moment speaks for itself. Is he not one of the top scorers so far?

Calm down. Ronaldo is not representing Brazil (As much as I like R9, I don't think he will, but I like and admire people who try to reach their dream). You really don't need to waste your energy and be pissed off :D Just relax and enjoy every moment when he scores, because he will retire soon. When that day comes, we will realize that no forward so far has reached Ronaldo's prime and stand up again and again after every injuries. I just want to see him "walk" away from the field with dignity, instead of being "carried" away from the field.;)

Joelzinho, I think he is two goals behind the top scorer.

Granted, as Celito pointed out to me, that some of his goals have been gift wrapped for him, a few of them he has made with his talent, and skill set. Plus, its often a controversial topic when it comes to the Striker position, even if one is able to convert relative tap ins, in situations where "most players" should be able to put them away, some credit has to be given to that particular players awareness and positioning.

Jucilei might have missed had he been the one to shoot it....seen players missed those all the times....it was well strucked and well placed, unlike the penalty.

CBF are just looking for some sort of an excuse to call him up. I am sure if he finishes in the top 5 scorers, or heck, I won't be surprised if he wins the MVP due to how much the media loves him (like Rogerio Ceni did even though he didn't deserve it half the time), Ronaldo will get a call-up.

Meanwhile, Adriano has been flying under the radar, scoring goals just as much as Ronaldo.

This is the first time I watch Brasileirão. Maybe because I am a fan of the Brazil NT and Brazilian players, I do find the style of Brasileirão enjoyable. One good thing about Ronaldo being in Brasileirão is that more people talk about the Brazilian clubs than before. I went to many other football forums, such as those in China, many people start to watch Brasileirão just because they want to see Ronaldo in action. They sometimes watch other teams too. It certainly does not happen before. Nobody in those forums care about Brazilian league before, considering it is below the level of European leagues.

BTW, the goalkeeper in Corinthians is pretty good, but the midfield and defence...sorry Corinthians fans, but they really need to improve.

The most important thing is how decisive the player is....and there is nobody currently playing in Brazil who has been more decisive than him.

The fact that Mano is refusing to rest him, shows just how important a player he still is....and this is 10 months from the WC and with him still not 100%

If for nothing else...Dunga should bring him to WC2010, just in-case a situation arise where its the last game and Brazil is a goal or 2 down.
Nobody knows how to get his team an undeserving win like R9 does.

Two members of their attacking force were missing.....and the captain, who plays in defense, was also missing

From what I observe from Dunga, he has resisted calling Ronaldo, Adriano, and Dinho for such a long time. There is no reason to think that he will suddenly kneel before the media just because the media love them or because of their fame. I think you underestimate Dunga there. If, however, they do get a call-up, it would be because he thinks they are useful and can fit into his strategy. Don't worry so much :p I fail to imagine Dunga will call them up just because of their fame, since he has resisted for such a long time. So, if they really make it into the NT, it's because Dunga thinks he needs them. Dunga has been the NT coach for sometime and he should know better than many of us what the team needs. You just need to trust his decision.

What radar....pleez....they are already been talks of him returning to Europe.

If Adriano sneezes in training....it makes the news

He and R9 have a pact of sorts.

He has given R9 still late this year to get where he needs to be to be selected

Adriano has already stated he will not go to Europe until after the World Cup.

When Ronaldo scores, he receives much more media attention than Adriano. It's a fact. All you heard about was Ronaldo scoring yesterday, but Adriano scored yesterday in a classico and you hardly hear anything about it.

Well, blame the media, it has nothing to do with Ronaldo. You think he should go tell the media stop reporting about him? Let's face it, the reason why the media focus more on Ronaldo is purely because they can get more money off him. Period.

For your information about Adriano, here you go:

Flamengo Star Adriano: I Would Have No Problems Joining Milan
‘Adri’ confesses he would have no "qualms" joining the bitter rivals of his

Adriano has sensationally announced that he would be prepared to join Milan, the great rivals of Inter, whom he by mutual consent last April after going AWOL in Brazil for several days. Since leaving the Nerazzurri, he has re-ignited his career at Flamengo, the club where he first shot to fame.

His agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, has dropped a strong hint this week that ‘L’Imperatore’ could return to the peninsula in the near future, revealing that the Rossoneri have already enquired after his client. The player himself has now admitted to contact being made.

“Above all, I am keen on the 2010 World Cup and then I will think about returning to Europe and joining a big team,” he revealed to the Corriere dello Sport.

“Yes, it could be Milan because I would have no qualms accepting a deal from such a big club like the Rossoneri.”

The 27-year-old has a clause in his contract with Flamengo that would allow him to walk away next January, but press reports in Italy claim that the wedding between ‘Adri’ and the Diavoli is more likely to be celebrated next summer.

Besides Inter, Adriano has also represented Fiorentina and Parma in Italy.

I have already seen that article, but he has already said he won't go anywhere until after the Cup. So in other words, he wouldn't mind going to Milan in the summer transfer window in 2010. I am not the one that is uninformed.

And yes, Ronaldo is also partly to blame. Just look at his quotes the past few weeks. He said he missed the penalty because he didn't want to score vs Cruzeiro, but changed his mind  A few weeks ago, he took a shot at Flamengo fans. He enjoys the spotlight.

I am pretty sure he was just joking about the PK miss. That's the problem with quotes on print, you can see if the player was just joking.

Don't take things so literally, man. He was joking about missing the penalty. You really think he would miss a penalty on purpose? Ronaldo is partly to blame...for what? His fame? Trust me, media would not even bother or care about what he said if he is not the Ronaldo. Media reports him just because people buy the paper when he is in it. Obviously, it sells better than when Adriano's in it. Should we blame the people who buy the stuff then?
If you a angry because you are a Flamengo fans, then do so when the match come, release your anger by cheering for your team. The better team on that day will win. No need to place blame.

Flamengo fans will get back at Ronaldo by hiring 50 shemales to cheer for him at the game wearing pink Corinthians jerseys with Ronaldetes written on them.
