    From the Inquirer article:

"That has to change if the league is going to become something more than just a feeder system for the end of the bench and for the lesser tournaments, and a comfortable, unchallenging home for international disappointments like central midfielder Landon Donovan."

"International disappointment?" Is he calling the all-time leading US goal scorer a disappointment? Or is he referring to LD's stints with Bayern and Leverkusen? If it's the former, he's an idiot. The latter, well...still an idiot. He never had a chance at Bayern, with their management situation, and two attempts at Leverkusen that didn't work out hardly qualify as an "international disappointment." Maybe a "Bundesliga disappointment."

"Four years later, the U.S. advanced to the quarterfinals in scrappy fashion, but the tournament was played in the Far East and didn't have much of an impact on anyone but the usual suspects."

Wait, so if the World Cup isn't played in a traditional country, it doesn't count? Good to know. Jack***.

I am not angry or sad about the death of newspapers in this country. I'm elated.
