I just caught wind of this. Inter Milan has begun their pre-season U.S. tour at UCLA. They are currently training at the campus facilities: http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=31679&L=en I also read in La Gazzetta dello Sport today that they are scheduled to play against the UCLA team this Thursday, July 16th at 4:00 PM Pacific time. So some of you who are in the area might want to check it out.
Clearly Mourinho wants to learn from the coaching genius that is Jorge Salcedo! In all seriousness, what a great opportunity for the kids. Though, have UCLA started preseason training already?
Hmm. Maybe it's an intramurals co-ed team. Anyway, found this regarding the game: http://www.interfanclub.com/post/inter-milan-us-tour-update/
anybody know when maicon and julio cesar will be joining the team? are they going to play in the game against chelsea? and where has kerlon been?
UCLA tied Inter 2-2 even with Inter's big guns in the game. Wow. Will we see Brain Perk at the San Siro?
Nice seeing Inter Milan able to hang with UCLA, 4-time NCAA National Champions and 4-time NCAA runners-up. Looks like Inter is on the up and up!!! And here are some highlights from an Italian TV news report. BTW, did anyone here happen to go to the game? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVG1Qq1ZC8c"]YouTube - Inter Vs Ucla 2-2 - All Goals & Match Highlights - [High Quality] - Friendly[/ame]
That wasn't 'UCLA'. That was 5 UCLA players with other invited players from top D1 programs from around California. This is not Spring season and it is not pre-season. NCAA D1 rules do not allow a team to play together in the summer and only 5 players from any single school are allowed to play together for a scheduled game in the summer - or at any off-season time.
ok but still....this is the special one, Cambiasso and Ibrahimovic against some D1 college guys...that must have been embarrassing for them.
Are you serious ? Do you think those guys care about the result in a friendly whose only purpose is to start to build some of their fitness over the next six weeks. I promise you the Cambiasso and Ibrahimovic didn't lose too much sleep over their run in the park in the California sun. The only sleep they are losing after that match is with probably some of the co-eds that have been hanging around the training grounds.
