Re: Looking for Hotel Have any of you guys purchased your tickets yet through ticketmaster.mx? Are they not selling yet the public, only selling right now for Banamex promotion?
Re: Looking for Hotel Me and another from Dallas are staying at Hotel Del Principado in the Zona Rosa. We're splitting a room and it's $100 total for 2 nights. There will probably be close to 10 coming from Dallas and yes we need to take over a bar on Tuesday night.
Sections O and P in Azteca!!! Just got with ticketmaster MX and they said sections O and P at south end of goal are for US Supporters! Tickets for general public go on sale on Sat the 17th. Right now, they are having pre-sale if you have a Banamex Credit Card. I am securing two now through girlfriend's mom! So, O and P. The Ole Ole thing is a rip off!!! Tickets are $30 US during presale and like $37 for general sale on Sat.
electronic version of your ticket. you print out your ticket at home. of course they charge you for this "service"
Re: Sections O and P in Azteca!!! Wouldn't TM MEX block the US Supporters sections from sales via their website? In theory tickets to those sections are under the control of US Soccer. The whole purpose of an away section is to segregate fans. If they allow sales via their website there is no way to prevent Mexican fans from "infiltrating".
Re: Sections O and P in Azteca!!! no and yes... ticketmaster usa does the same thing with us section tix during online sale. difference is that at azteca, they have access to same section but the riot squad and barb fence divides us from everybody else.
I've looked around most web sites (of course, some say they are open daily, others say museums closed on Monday) - it isn't entirely clear. I appreciate you bringing this to the forefront, so that I can continue to investigate. I really want to go on Monday to rest up on Tuesday.
Re: Sections O and P in Azteca!!! Is that Saturday the 18th or Friday the 17th for general sale? There is also a notation that says that E-tickets are only available for Mexico-issued credit cards. Is this only for the Banamex promotion, or will that policy still be in effect for sale to the general public no matter what credit card?

Wow... I searched, found, then reserved a room the Del Prin a few weeks ago, posted it here and then I was worried I wouldn't have any company.... As the management there may be unaware of (and perhaps unprepared for)this gringo invasion it may be necessary to give them a heads up that we are coming. I picked the hotel for its proximity to the Zona Rosa and the Galeria Plaza, the bigger hotel where I know USAers stayed last time and will be staying this time. I am planning on crashing the swimming pool at the Galeria Plaza most definitely. I would like to suggest at this time that it would probably be in our best interest to use the Del Prin as our quiet residence and do most of our louder partying/drinking/singing at at the Galeria Plaza (5 blocks down) or elsewhere. May I point out here that I am a Mexican-American USMNT supporter (100%) who loves most everything about Mexico except their football team. I certainly hope that everyone staying in Mexico City will treat our hosts with the respect and dignity they deserve, regardless of the outcome of the match.
It appears that Teotihucán is open on Monday: http://www.gobiernodigital.inah.gob.mx/ZonasArqueologicas/todas/htme/za00914.html Admission is MEX$48 (US$3.50). I would recommend that people visit the National Archeology Museum the day before going to Teotihuacan. It will go a long way to explaining what it all means. Other than that, I had my Lonely Planet Mexico City book with me to explain things back in 2001 and I just walked around the site alone. I don't think a guided tour would have added anything to the experience. More to come...
Amen. Always good to set a good example, not to mention the safety issues for when we finally win in the Azteca! Let's be smart and let's go USA!!
Oh, and while we are at it, peace and respect to all the Mexican-Americans who are going down to support their team - you know who you are (and I've been checking your gringo contingent thread in the Mexico BS section). We will definitely be sharing some of the same flights going in and out. An airborne singing contest would be massive but the pilot would probably divert the flight to Culiacan and kick all of us off, LMFAO!!
