Or else we would not have seen Charlie Davies and see the great speed and skill he has! Let's be honest, with Ching in the starting line-up we would have not seen davies and a fast attack especially fast counter attacking! This cup proved we do not need him and there are other players more deserved than he and i believe he has to earn his spot back just like beasley and pearce!

Sad but true. Alot of people say how good he is at holding the ball underpressure and than releasing it to other players, but to be honest. The only good game i have seeing of him was against T&T. Other that i cant find any other. and yeah with out that injury Davies would have gotten the change to start, and show that he can put pressure apponents defense.

I think that Ching does it a whole lot better than Jozy does. So don't be to quick to call for Ching to get the boot from the national team just yet. Although I do agree that Davies is at least a threat from the counter-attack.

or... people should be embarassed for supporting a US Nats coach that needs injuries to players to luck into finding the right combinations for many positions.

see: Spector, DeMerit, Bocanegra, et al.

Yea he holds the ball better but so what he still knocks it down to no one.

lets be truthful, Altidore scored one more goal against Spain then Ching would have.

Heck, he sored one more goal in the whole tournament then Ching will all year against real competition.

As soon as he learns how to bring down the ball better Ching will have nothing on him. He certainly cant run with Davies, Jozy can.

I'm happily embarrassed that I was/am thankful for TWO injuries:

    1) Ching's
    2) Bocanegra's

HAPPILY embarrassed. ECSTATICALLY embarrassed. I have ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS... embarrassed.

These two injuries forced Bob to try combinations that we've been begging for for months!

    YEAHHHHHHHHH INJURIES!!!!!!!!!

    ...bite me.

You do realize these players are real life people and not video game characters? You're wishing for pain and suffering on players that give their all for the U.S. jersey? Some fan you are. The true definition of classless.

me thinks you're being a little soap opera-ish, no?

and their effort during the last round of WCQ was anything less than "all", they were called out, and rightly so. They are back on track and we're all happy about that. But when the effort isn't there, they should be called out.

Wow, I can't believe what some people say sometimes on these boards.

When I think it can't get any worse, someone like you comes along and proves me wrong.

This is like saying that Bill Belichick is a bad coach because he never played Tom Brady until Drew Bledsoe got injured, and that it would be OK for a Pats fan to revel in Bledsoe's injury.

I'm not a Bradley apologist by any means, I am actually in the camp that disagrees with his subs and seeming favoritism, but the premise of this thread is a little ridiculous. It's not being soap-operaish, it's having respect for the players on the team you supposedly support, even if they are sucking it up in your opinion.

If Landon Donovan broke his leg and some new star emerged to take his place should we be happy about that too? It's not all about the end result you know. A sickening display of utilitarianism, this business about being happy for the injury of one of our team members.

When exactly has Brian Ching not shown effort in any U.S. men's national team game? When you watch him he shows complete and utter effort, the same with most of the players on the team, look at how much ground they traveled in the confederations cup, in the group stages 7 of the players who ran the most were american. Just because they lost to Costa Rica in a hostile environment that they historically have had trouble in doesn't mean that they aren't showing effort.

Soap opera-ish? Wishing injury on a player (even a rival) is classless. They are human beings, just like you and I.

This is an absolute joke of a thread. Mods, why do you allow stuff like this?

Who do you think is being soap operish?

I agree, it ruins the experience for many on this site.

Ching didn't die. He said he's happy that Ching got a little knock [that every player gets throughout the year] during a time that allowed a promising player to show he belongs whereas it is likely the coach would never previously have allowed it.

If Ching broke his leg that would be different. I see nothing wrong with the OP's thread.

Nope, he's telling people to lighten up.

Everyone gets attached to a player with potential that's not playing. And it's natural they're ecstatic that the player played well.

Again Boc was out for a small injury just like Ching.

I'm talking about the whole teams effort over thier last stint, and yes, everybody was calling them out, Harkes, Lalas and many fans, bloggers. The effort wasn't there. It's OK not to win every game, we know we won't but the effort is something the US has always had.

which is why playing only 15 of 20 outfielders was a poor mistake at the international level.

    No it's not.

And why does every thread you post in have to turn into a Bob Bradley thread?

dude, he got a little knock that made Dad play someone else for a change, thus lucking into what is by all accounts a great combination.

you can say the same about boca's hammy and DeMerits rise. Or the same for Spector.

many of us for , oh the last 1 1/2 years, have been calling for players like Davies, DeMerit, Spector to get more time, it's happened due to Dad's hand being forced due to minor injury of some Nats. None of us are wishing for broken legs, relax.

If that's what it takes for "Mr. 4-5-1 against Barbados and Cuba" to fall into some winning combos so be it. Players pick up knocks all the time.

    soap opera-ish?, you betch ya.
